Lich: “Feel the freeze!”
Ethreain, the Lich, is an intelligence hero from DotA and Dota 2. The Lich is a ranged combat unit and belongs to the Dire. In the game he can play the role of a support, lane support and nukers. Lich can damage an enemy unit and surrounding enemies with frost, as well as slow down their attack and movement speed. Ice Armor causes a shield of ice to form around Lich or an allied unit, increasing their armor and slowing attackers. Meanwhile, this can also be applied to allied buildings to protect them. If you switch this to automatic application, the Lich will cast it on allied heroes or himself by itself when he or she is attacked. With Sacrifice, Lich kills an allied Creep, whose Health regenerates a certain amount of Mana. In doing so, all nearby heroes receive the experience points from the Creep. His Ultimate Chain Frost fires an ice sphere at enemy units, bouncing between them several times and dealing great damage if they are close enough, quickly diffusing any teamfight. With Aghanim’s Scepter, the damage and range of the Ultimate are increased and the number of jumps is no longer limited by the hits.
Lich- Hype
Lich floats from battle to battle, supporting his allies with paralyzing frost attacks and gaining new strength by sacrificing creeps in a ritual. If his enemies are too close together, he puts an end to them with an orb of frost that bounces around.
Lich- Biography
“During his lifetime, Ice Mage Ethreain (he was not a lich then) used the destructive powers of ice magic to subjugate entire kingdoms. His subordinates, aided by a few desperate mages, eventually conquered their fear and prepared an ambush for him. Equipped with enough enchanted ropes to bind him forever, they tied the frost mage to weights of adamant and threw him into a hole that was said to be bottomless. However, this was not the case. He fell for about a year until he landed on a rock. There he rested, dead but not decomposing, until the geomancer Anhil decided to verify the legend of the supposed bottomless black pool. Anhil’s plumb bob got tangled in the ropes that bound the drowned mage and pulled the unexpected prey up. He thought that he could ask the dead man about the property of the hole if he turned him into an undead. Therefore, he removed the shackles and performed a brief resuscitation ceremony. But he quickly realized that he had made a mistake when the lich threw off his shackles and ate him.”
Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
