Invoker: “Knowledge is power!”

Invoker- Biography

“In its earliest, perhaps most powerful form, magic was primarily the art of memory. It required neither technology nor wands nor equipment, but only the mind of the magician. All the trappings of the ritual consisted merely of mnemonic devices that served to recall to the practitioner’s mind the specific formula that released the power of the spell. The greatest magicians of those days were those blessed with the most powerful memories. Similarly complex were the incantations that all wizards were forced to internalize. The most devoted could hope to master three to four incantations at most throughout their lives. Ordinary warlocks were satisfied with the internalization of two spells, and it was not uncommon for a village mage to know only one, and even for that to have to consult a spellbook lest he be forgotten on the rare occasions when it was needed.

But among these early mages there was one who stood out from the crowd, a genius of enormous intellect and amazing memory who became known as the Invoker. In his youth, this precocious magician had mastered not four, five, or even seven incantations: He had no less than ten spells that he could cast instantaneously. He learned many more, but finding them useless, he practiced them once and then banished them from his memory forever to make room for more expedient spells. One of these spells was the Sempiternal Cantrap – a powerful longevity spell. Even those who invoked it in the earliest days of the world are still with us today (unless they have been decomposed into their atomic components). Most of these virtually immortals live secluded lives, afraid to reveal their secret. But Invoker is not one to hide his gift. He is ancient, learned far more than anyone else, and yet his animus still has room for a keen sense of his own worth and the spells he amuses himself with during the long twilight of the world’s last days.”

Heroes (Dota 2)

The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.

Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
