Heroes Dota 2 – Drow Ranger

Heroes (Dota 2)

The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.

Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.

Drow Ranger: “Arrow, find your target!”

Traxex, the Drow Ranger, is an heroine from DotA and Dota 2. The archer Traxex is a ranged fighter of the Radiant. In the game, Drow Ranger can take on the role of a Carry. Drow Ranger’s strength is very much dependent on her agility. For example, her semi-passive ability Precision Aura grants her and allied heroes a damage bonus based on Drow Ranger’s Agility. In addition to this ability, Traxex can also transfer Precision Aura to allied creeps for 30 seconds. Frost Arrows, when Drow Ranger selects the ability, causes the arrows of their normal attacks to freeze, slowing down units that are hit. When doing so, Drow Ranger can choose to permanently ice her arrows, ice individual attacks, or not use the ability. Further hits with Frost Arrwos will renew the duration of the effect. Gust allows Drow Ranger to push entire groups of enemies in the opposite direction and silencing them. Her Ultimate Marksmanship passively increases her agility by up to 80 points, but is negated by nearby enemies. Aghanim’s Scepter improves Drow Ranger’s Ultimate in the aspect that it allows her to split her arrows on a hit unit, allowing her to hit two other units. In addition to making a major appearance in the Dota 2 Gamescom trailer, Drow Ranger also appeared in the comic ‘Are We Heroes Yet?

Drow Ranger- Biography

“Drow Ranger’s first name is Traxex – a name that fits well with the race of small-bodied, troll-like, and rather loathsome Drow. But Traxex herself is not a Drow. Bandits attacked the wagon in which her parents were traveling, and the noise of the slaughter of innocents aroused the anger of the quiet Drow people. After the fighting died down, the Drow discovered a little girl hiding in the wreckage of the wagon and agreed that she could not be left behind. Even as a child, Traxex proved to be a natural at the arts they valued: Stealth, Silence, Acumen. Mentally, if not physically, she could have been a Drow changeling returned to her true home. As she grew older, however, she outgrew her family and began to think of herself as ugly. After all, her features were smooth and symmetrical, completely pure of warts and bristly whiskers. Alienated from her adopted tribe, she retreated to live alone in the woods. Lost travelers who found their way out of the forest sometimes speak of an incredibly beautiful ranger who would stare at them from deep among the trees and then vanish like a dream before they could approach her. Sleek and stealthy, glowing cold, she moves silently like the mist. The whispers you hear are her ice arrows finding the heart of an enemy.”
