Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
Dragon Knight: “Who calls the Dragon Knight?”
Davion, the Dragon Knight, is a strength hero from DotA and Dota 2. In its normal form, the Dragon Knight only has abilities that make it suitable for melee combat. He is a melee unit that can breathe fire and transform into a dragon for a limited time with his Ultimate. The Dragon Knight belongs to the Radiant faction. In the game, he can take on the role of a Carry, Durabler, Disabler and Pusher. The Breathe Fire ability deals area damage against enemies, while the Dragon Knight can stun enemy units with Dragon Tail. His passive ability Dragon Blood, on the other hand, boosts armor and increases the Dragon Knight’s Health regeneration. If Davion transforms into a dragon with his Ultimate ability, the powers of his abilities are boosted and also allow him to engage in limited ranged combat. All three levels of his Ultimate have different effects on his Dragon form abilities, which also varies by level. Since he is considered a beginner-friendly hero, the Dragon Knight also appears as the first playable hero in the Dota 2 tutorial.
Dragon Knight- Hype
Once he takes the form of a mighty dragon, he instills respect in all who stand in his way. Strong but adaptable, he can stun opponents and burn the area in front of him with his fire breath. Thus, he often provides exactly the move forward that his team needs to get the victory.
Dragon Knight- Biography
“At the end of a year-long hunt for the legendary Eldworm, the knight Davion finally stood before his, truly disappointing, adversary: the once-feared Slyrak had grown old and frail, his wings tattered, his scales rotting, his fangs ground down to the root, and as much danger emanating from his fire glands as from a wet box of matches. The knight Davion no longer felt any honor in slaying the dragon, so he headed back to let his old enemy die in peace. But then Davion heard the voice of Slyrak whispering in his ear to grant him his last request, an honorable death by the sword. Davion agreed and was extraordinarily rewarded for his mercy. As he sank his blade into Slyrak’s chest, Davion’s throat was pierced by one of the dragon’s claws. Through the mingled blood of their bodies, Slyrak transmitted to the knight all his power as well as his centuries of wisdom. The death of the dragon sealed the bond from which the Dragon Knight emerged. Within him now slumber the ancient powers, until the Dragon Knight Davion calls them or they call him…”
