On December 12, 2054, Hirtzel was the likely mastermind of the attack on the Coalescence commuter train, with a bomb detonating at 07:31, almost completely destroying the train.
Simulation
In a simulation in which the player learns several different skills related to the DNI, Hirtzel becomes a target during the course of this. In the scene in question, he is chased by the player and critically injured. After the player uses his DNI to retrieve and “read” his memory, Hirtzel dies as a result.
