Assassination of Diego Almagro
During the American invasion of General Almagro in 2005, Merrick was alongside Rorke, Walker and Ajax. Merrick tried to convince Rorke to call off the attack, as Almagro had even flooded the city. But when Almagro was then shot and the helicopter crashed, Merrick advised Elias to let go of Rorke to save the team. For weeks they searched for his body, but the Federation was faster and turned Rorke into a killing machine against the Ghosts.
Capture, Las Vegas
Merrick, Elias, Hesh and Logan were ambushed and captured at their Las Vegas hideout. First Elias was executed by Rorke, then Rorke’s men were to execute Hesh, Logan and Merrick. Just before Hesh’s execution, shots rang out and Rorke’s soldiers fell to the ground. Sergeant Russ, one of Elias’s men, rescued them. They still got out of Vegas fairly well, only Merrick had a couple of broken ribs and Riley was shot through, but survived.
After his injury, he took over Elias’ job as coordinator and led the assault on Rorke.
