The Giant is an allied character on the Buried map in Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s Survival Battle, and if you give him the right objects, he will help players.
Description
The Giant is first located in a prison cell near the first spawn point of the mysterious crate. You can only reach him via the stairs by the crate and through the roof. The key to free him hangs next to his cell. After you free him, he turns around until you give him booze, whereupon he destroys the rubble blocking his cell and wanders between the cell and the saloon, completely ignoring zombies and players until you give him the right objects
If you hit the giant with a melee weapon, he will sprint for a short time, which is especially helpful if you want him to run to a player who has items. However, if you shoot him, he can be wounded, after which he locks himself in his cell and you have to free him again, which can be avoided with booze or candy.
Objects associated with the giant
There are some objects related to the giant, to which he reacts differently. These occupy the same slot as the chalk-painted wall weapons, so you can’t have both at the same time.
The key
• The key to his cell frees the giant the first time you encounter him and every time he locks himself back in after being wounded. When that happens, you can find the key in the following places.
• To the left of his cell. That’s where the key is always when you free him the first time.
• By the jury bench in the courtroom.
• In the middle room of the second floor in the saloon.
• In the bank behind the safe.
Liquor
• You can give liquor to the giant, which he will drink and run off in the opposite direction. This method allows you to destroy the piles of rubble that block some paths on the map. The player who gave the liquor to the giant gets points for the distance the giant runs. Few points are earned if you stood right in front of the pile of rubble, but you can earn a lot of points if the giant has to run a further distance. During this process, the giant can kill both zombies and players and pick up power-ups.
• Booze is located both in the giant’s cell and in the saloon, where it spawns every three rounds. If you use up the booze in a round, you can buy a new bottle at the counter in the Saloon for 1000 points.
Sweets
• Candy can be found rather unsurprisingly in the candy store, where you can buy it at the counter for 1000 points. They have different effects on the giant depending on where you give them to him.
• If you just hand him some, the giant will aggressively follow the corresponding player and kill all the zombies that get too close to him. You can’t give him any other objects in this state.
• If you give it to him next to a crawling zombie, he will follow the player again. However, if you shoot or knife it, it will aggressively throw the crawler to the ground and stomp on its head.
• If you give it to him next to a workbench, the giant first examines it and then runs through size comparison between the giant and a normal character the area to look for parts and build things, unless you shoot or knife him. If an object is currently in build status, he just looks for the missing parts, otherwise he fetches all the parts for a random object. The giant can build an object in one pass, but if you have an associated part yourself, you have to attach it yourself.
• If you give him candy next to a currently active mystery box, he will hit it, causing no more teddy bear to appear. The next zombies that die will then drop a stock sale if you kill them after the giant has punched the crate.
• If you give it to him while standing next to a mystery crate that just spat out a weapon, but you didn’t take the weapon, the giant will make the crate spawn a new weapon.
• If you give it to him next to an empty mystery crate spawn point, the giant will move off, get the current crate, and place it where you are currently standing.
• If you give him candy next to one power-up, he will change it into another.
• If you give it to him next to the chalk in the weapon store, the giant picks up three pieces of chalk and paints them in random places.
• If you give it to him by a safe, he can get the player a power-up for 2000 points.
Appearance
The Giant is a gigantic human who wears overalls. He is extremely thin and has a pot hairdo. It looks like he almost starved to death in his cell. On the giant’s fingers is written the word “sugar”, but it was misspelled “sugr”. His appearance is quite threatening. If you shoot him in his cell, he kneels down and holds his hands in front of his face.
info
• If he stands in a gas cloud, which was triggered by the drink Vulture Potion after the death of a zombie, he reacts negatively.
• He will not enter the cursed country house under any circumstances. If you bring him near it, he runs away in panic.
• Although you need the giant to reach most places, sometimes you can take shortcuts. You can reach the weapon store through a tunnel in the bank, for example.
• Sometimes you hear the giant say Richtofen’s name, so apparently the two have a history together.
• He won’t return to his cell if you shoot him with a ballistic knife.
• If two players have objects for the giant, he follows the player who gave him food first.
• The zombies he kills respawn unless they have previously taken damage from the player.
• If he is standing next to a player with booze or candy, he gestures to the player that he wants the item.
• When standing still with a crawling zombie, the giant starts cradling it like a baby.
• If you give the giant booze near a pack-a-punch machine and he falls through a hole in the stairs, he doesn’t die but respawns at the haunted house.
• If the giant runs to his cell after you shoot him, but is overtaken by a player who slips into the cell first, he doesn’t close the door and you don’t have to find the key to free him and yourself.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
