Major Nikolai Badanov (Russian: Николай Баданов) is a playable character from Call of Duty: Finest Hour. Being a Major, he is one of the highest-ranking playable characters from the series, along with Major Neitsch and followed by Captain Mason, Captain MacTavish, Captain Price, Lt. Walker and Lt. Pavelovna.

Biography

Nikolai was a mechanic who left his wife and son, only one year old, with his parents in Leningrad to join the Red Army. He was assigned to the 24th Armored Division (along with Dimitry Petrov and Fyodor Belinki) because he was so aggressive and knew how to work with machines.
Shortly after a factory, where there is only one tank, was defended by sniper Tanya Pavelovna, Nikolai’s squad comes by to get the equipment. Tanya and her scout Aleksandr Sokolov escape with the tank and on the way even a German tank is broken. But the fight was not without consequences, the tank had some tehnical difficulties, so Nikolai, Petrov, Tanya, Sokorov and some others had to protect the technician Belinki while he was trying to repair the device. Tanya’s position was hit by a tank shot shortly after, so the troops thought she and her scout were dead. When the tank finally started working again, the troops hurried to get to headquarters.
Nikolai arrived at headquarters and received orders to take a radio to a scout. The radio of the latter had broken down and the general could no longer get coordinates of German tanks to destroy them with Katushya missiles. Shortly after, Tanya was also brought back in, wounded but not dead. Nikolai was glad, but had to drive the tank through the ruins in Red Square to deliver the radio. While the rest of his squad stayed behind, Nikolai and two others fought their way through a railroad station and delivered the radio.
Not long after, Nikolai and his crew were involved in an attack on a German airfield, the code name was Operation Little Saturn. After a very heavy firefight, the T-34 tanks made their way to the airfield to destroy the remaining German planes and bombers. After the destruction, they met up with more Russian soldiers to attack the command center. When they broke in, Nikolai and his men found many German documents, which they were then able to pass on to the Russians.
