Private K. Pyle was a member of Private Miller’s squad in the opening of Call of Duty: World at War. The team arrived on Makin Atoll before the first mission and was captured by the Japanese.
Pyle was tortured by a Japanese soldier with a bamboo stick, while Miller was interrogated by an officer. Their comrades have been tied to stakes outside the hut while being beaten to death. When Pyle is questioned, he says nothing and spits in the Japanese officer’s face to express his disrespect. The officer remained calm and put out his burning cigar in Pyle’s eye, whereupon he ordered the soldier to execute the two Marines. His last words were “GO TO HELL,” after which the soldier cut his neck with a machete.
Info
• Misty Pyle is the first character in the game to die.
• Immediately after the Japanese soldier executes Pyle, his name is still above the corpse as if he were alive, but when Roebuck rescues the player, the name disappears.
• The execution in the Wii version is not as brutal and there are no bloodstains on Pyle’s face, nor are there traces of blood on the wall.
• During the introductory sequence of the Semper Fi mission, you can read Pyle’s personal information, which states that he has brown hair and blue eyes, weighs 75 kilos and his initial letter is “K”.
• Pyle’s profile in the first sequence shows him with a mustache, but in the game he is clean-shaven.
• Pyle has his own appearance, unlike Cook and Henderson, who are randomly generated.
• Later in the game, Roebuck can be heard saying “Pyle would be so proud, Miller, so damn proud!”.
• On the map Crazy from Survival, one of the Marines sometimes yells “For Private Pyle!”.
• Pyle is the first character in the entire game series to be assassinated by Japanese soldiers.
Heroes (Call of Duty)
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
