“”Today is a difficult day, but tomorrow we will all win.”” – Salazar
Salazar is a character from Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
Biography
Salazar grew up in Nicaragua during Menendez’s rise to power. As part of JSOC, he accompanied the team consisting of David Mason, Harper and Crosby. He also helps secure Karma, a girl who memorizes the Celerium Code and is thus a tool against Menendez’s power.
Trerrat and Death
During the attack on the U.S.S. Barack Obama, he betrays his friends for Menendez and DeFalco. He shoots two of Admiral Briggs’ guards and asks Menendez to spare him and “just” shoot him in the knee instead. However, if the player a.k.a. Menendez finishes him off completely, against Salazar’s will, the latter will say “No unnecessary sacrifices!”. Menendez then replies, “I’ll decide what’s necessary!”. Later, he is captured by allied soldiers and is either captured by David Mason, or shot by Mike Harper, if he is still alive. However, when Harper is killed in Yemen, he is captured and killed by a NAVY soldier when the aircraft carrier is finally destroyed. You learn this in the career summary after the mission. The following message appears: “All crew members die when the USS Obama was destroyed.” At the time, Salazar was on the middle floor, so didn’t have time to catch any of the remaining VTOL units.
