Private James Ramirez is a playable character from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He will appear in the mission Wolverines! mission along with Sergeant Foley and Corporal Dunn. He is the second playable character in the game.
Biography
Virginia
Ramirez and his squad must respond to an unknown Russian invasion and travel to Virginia. They help friendly troops secure a very important VIP, after which they move on to Arcadia County and rescue civilians with the help of a Stryker ICV armored personnel carrier named Honey Badger.
Washington DC
After destroying several AA guns that threatened the evacuation of civilians, Hunter Two-One heads downtown where American soldiers are desperately fighting Russians to hold the Capitol. The squad attacks a building containing a cache of Javelin missiles and an M82, which they use against the invaders, buying valuable time. The squad occupies a helicopter and attacks Russian sods on the ground, but is shot down by a surface-to-air gun over the courthouse and crashes. After the crash, Ramirez awakens in the helicopter and finds himself trapped by debris. He is injured and surrounded by Russian forces. When they run out of ammunition, Private Wade dies giving Ramirez an M4A1, Dunn is injured and several troops of Russians attack while a Russian helicopter blinds the Americans with a light.
EMP
Hope seems long lost when an EMP bomb, detonated by Captain Price, blows up over Washington D.C.. This brings down any object in the air, Russian or American. The Rangers help Ramirez out of the helicopter and the squad moves on to a destroyed building as the crashing helicopter kills enemy troops. After meeting an ally, Private Vaughan, who tells them to go to the Whiskey Hotel, they fight their way through some office buildings. Despite heavy resistance from the Russians, many are able to gather on the White House lawn to retake Whiskey Hotel (the White House). Colonel Marshall orders Sgt. Foley and his men to go up on the left and eliminate any resistance. After the Russians fought back to no avail, Ramirez and another Ranger make it to the roof. They lit green smoke markers to signal the Whiskey Hotel was secure and the impending bombardment by friendly aircraft was aborted. Green smoke can also be seen on the roofs of other buildings in the area.
Info
• James Ramirez is one of the five playable characters (the others are Burns, Frost, the AC-130 gunner, and Price) who do not have to die in the Modern Warfare parts. Also, the above (with the exception of Price) are the only ones who don’t get severely wounded.
• Ramirez is also the only playable character that is still alive in Modern Warfare 2. All the other characters are killed except Soap, who loses his life in Modern Warfare 3.
• Although his gloves are torn and the GPS device destroyed after the helicopter crash, and they remain so in Second Sun, they seem to have magically repaired themselves during the gathering in front of the White House.
• Because Ramirez gets orders so often in the campaign (56 times in total, mostly from Sergeant Foley), a rather popular image has emerged on the Internet called “RAMIREZ DO EVERYTHING!” in which Sergeant Foley can be seen while giving Ramirez a rather pointless or stupid order most of the time.
Heroes (Call of Duty)
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
