Biography
Kazakhstan
Gary’s first confirmed deployment is to Kazakhstan with Captain MacTavish. Their mission is to find an ACS module in the middle of the freezing cold that has recently crashed nearby. After overcoming the icebergs with the help of ice axes, the two continue through the barracks. When Roach sneaks through the enemy ranks with the help of sniper MacTavish and the two meet in a small hangar where the ACS module is, MacTavish is caught and nearly executed by Major Petrov and his men. Roach, however, is able to blow up a small refueling facility to which he had previously planted C4. The two use this time to finish off the attackers and flee the base. When they kill two more troops with snowmobiles, they take them and escape with the help of a helicopter.
Brazil
After Roach and his commander secure the ACS module in Kazakhstan, they move on to Brazil to capture Alejandro Rojas in order to find out the whereabouts of Vladimir Makarov, who caused a massacre at Zakhaev International Airport in Moscow and blames it on the Americans. Roach and MacTavish are assisted by other task force members. Meat, Royce and Ghost are at their disposal and they chase Rojas all over the poor district of Brazil. After Meat and Royce are killed and Rojas is about to escape, MacTavish jumps out of a house onto Rojas and is able to capture him. As Ghost tries in vain to get helicopters for an escape, they are overrun by enemy militia and so they call Nikolai, who picks them up in his Pave Low. Everything goes almost flawlessly until Roach falls off the roof during the last jump and has to run unarmed through the streets to avoid being shot by militia fighters. At the last moment, Roach manages to catch the ladder of the Pave Low and escape with his three colleagues.
Oil rig and gulag
Just off the Russian coast is the next mission for Roach & Co. Their task, secure the oil rig and advance further to the coast to free prisoner 627, who is being held in the gulag. According to intelligence, this prisoner is particularly important to Makarov. After securing the lower floor of the Bohrinsl, they must free some captured workers who are used as human shields there to avoid being attacked by bombs. When all the workers are freed, they deploy enemy smoke and the task force has to defend themselves with thermal visors. After the last enemy has fallen, they continue to the Gulag by helicopter to free 627. The Gulag is an old fortress that could only be logged into when the Americans bombed it. Once the outer towers and a small portion of the courtyard were secured, the task force landed and Roach is able to fight his way through the basements with MacTavish and his team. When they finally get to 627’s cell door, they blow up the wall with C4 and storm the room. 627 turns out to be an old acquaintance of MacTavish, John Price. Because of all the bombing, the gulag disintegrates and Roach, MacTavish, Worm and Price must quickly flee. When MacTavish detonates a light signal, they are saved at the last second.
Georgian-Russian border
This time Task Force 141 splits into two groups, one team is Roach and Ghost, the other is MacTavish and Price. The reason, Makarov has only two sanctuaries left, one is Afghanistan and in a small house on the Georgian border. When Roach and his team of about 10 men secure the house and find a small digital “diary” there, they lose most of their people in a counterattack by Markarov’s forces. The only ones remaining: Ghost and Roach. When they eventually make it up the hill to Shepherd’s helicopter to deliver said device, they are double-crossed by Shpeherd and shot and burned by Shepherd’s men. As of now, members of the Task Force are persecuted and executed, only MacTavish and Price manage to escape for the time being and recruit new members for Task Force 141 in 2016 and 2017.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
