Dimitri Petrenko’ (Russian: Дмитрий ‘Петренко) is one of the main playable characters in Call of Duty: World at War. He also appears in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Life
Dimitri was born in 1920 in a small village in the Urals. He grew up without a father because his father was a staunch opponent of the Bolsheviks. His father was sent to a Soviet labor camp. He was taught how to shoot by his grandfather. At that time he shot at wolves and deer. So he became an excellent shooter. Dimitri was forcibly recruited in 1938 and in 1942 was assigned to the defense of Stalingrad.
During the war and afterwards
After the Battle of Stalingrad, he fought his way throughout Eastern Europe alongside Viktor Reznov. He took part in the Battle of Berlin and personally raised the flag of the Soviet Union on the Reichstag, in great pain.
A few months later, he went with Reznov on the mission to the Arctic Circle. There he was killed by the Nova-6 gas after being betrayed by Nikita Dragovich.
