Private Denny was a member of the Marine Raiders in Call of Duty: World at War. He appears mainly in the Semper Fi mission as a shooter from the squad that Tom Sullivan leads. Denny is the only American sniper in the game.
Biography
Denny was the sniper of the Marine Raiders rescue team, led by Tom Sullivan and Donald Roebuck, that came to Makin Atoll to rescue Private Miller. After Miller was freed, the Americans began their assault on the Japanese prison camp.
As the team moved deeper into the camp, Denny and another soldier took over the left flank to provide supporting fire. Shortly after the attack, one of the soldiers was killed in a Japanese trap that foreshadowed an ambush. Denny killed an attacking Japanese with the barrel of his rifle, saving the lives of his teammates who were still distracted by the trap.
The team got its people through the narrow paths of the Japanese, masterminding an ingenious ambush and severely destroying the camp. Denny escaped from Makin on the second boat behind Miller, Roebuck and Sullivan. He is seen as a gunner in Hard Landing, which is rather odd because he doesn’t appear at all in Little Resistance. Or maybe he just didn’t go through with the White Beach invasion. At the end of Target Breaking, he is mostly eliminated along with Rooker and Lozano
Info
• Denny shares a name with another American sniper from Call of Duty: United Offensive.
• When the player saves Rivera and he and Lozano make it through the machine gun positions, Denny dies for some inexplicable reason. If this happens, the player can take his Springfield with a scope.
• On the Wii, Private Denny starts out in the boat with the player as the first scenes of the Low Resistance mission happen. You can tell because it’s a sniper and they look the same. In this mission, Denny almost can’t die at all.
• Denny wears a cap instead of an M1 helmet. This is perhaps because it is lighter and more advantageous when he has to run.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
