If you ask a WoW fan which feature of the upcoming Dragonflight expansion he or she is most looking forward to, then dragon riding is certainly high on the list. After all, this special form of locomotion on the Dragon Isles will bring a lot of fresh air to the skies of Azeroth. In addition, there are a total of 40 glyphs that we can use to optimize dragon riding or improve our riding dragon. But how do you get the glyphs? We’ll explain it to you in this guide.
In order to be able to collect the glyphs for Dragon Riding at all, you must first completely finish the introductory quest series for Dragon Riding on the Dragon Islands. You can do this at the start of the expansion at level 60. After that, you will find the so-called dragon glyphs, which are golden symbols floating in the air, all over the Dragon Isles. If you fly through one of these symbols, you will automatically receive the corresponding glyph.

A WoW player who goes by the name Gray Oldwolf on Youtube has published a video in which he shows how to collect all 40 glyphs in about 20 minutes. In doing so, he uses the starting dragon that we receive as part of the intro quest series:
The video shows the specific flight route over the Dragon Islands as well as the locations of each glyph, for which the Youtuber also provides the corresponding TomTom coordinates. If you want to make dragon riding a little easier, you can also use a Weakaura string made especially for glyph hunting, which Graymist uploaded to Wago.
With a little practice, you should be able to collect the glyphs relatively quickly and enjoy dragon riding to the fullest. You can then spend the glyphs you’ve collected in the Dragon Riding talent tree to unlock various perks, including various ways to increase the regeneration of Elan. Elan is what you need to use the various dragon riding abilities.
However, we would like to point out at this point that all information in this guide is based on the current beta state of Dragonflight. So it is possible that the locations of the glyphs or the glyph system as a whole may still change by the time Dragonflight is released. However, if that is the case, we will update this text accordingly.
