gamescom recap, RBLZ extensions and FIFA 23 scripting
Our new podcast is online: /gg – the kicker eSport News Podcast. It replaces the kicker eSport Talk, but don’t panic, you can still watch the talk on Twitch and YouTube. You can find links in the show notes. However, our new podcast also starts with some strong topics, because we were at gamescom!
“Like the old days, only better.” – that was the motto of gamescom 2022, but was it really?
Plus, Nicole and Chris talk about what’s been happening in the eSports transfer market: RB Leipzig extends with world champion team around Umut Gültekin and with “wunderkind” Anders Vejrgang. Good decision or would the jump have been better?
And EA SPORTS clarifies once again: “We do not script games”.
/gg stands for probably the most commonly used acronym in eSports: “Good Game”. As a phrase, it has long been established beyond a simple final rating of a game and is therefore perfect for our podcast about the meta-topics of eSports. “Then gg” you’re sure to hear host Christian Gürnth say a time or two in the episode as well

gamescom, RBLZ team and scripting in FIFA 23
To kick off the new format, gamescom 2022 will be the topic. Under the motto “As in the past, only better”, the popular video game fair in Cologne started from the two-year Corona break. Already in the interview, press spokesman Franz Mann told us what was different this year and where gamescom wants to go in the future. /gg discusses the brought own experiences of the fair and clarifies: What became better?
In the spring, RB Leipzig was able to win the German championship. In addition, Umut ‘Umut’ Gültekin brought the World Cup to Germany again in the summer. Things are going well at RBLZ Gaming – probably one reason why the regular lineup including FIFA prodigy Anders ‘Anders’ Vejrgang should be kept in Leipzig. Our host talks about the importance of the contract extensions in the FIFA eSport team of the red bulls.
Also on the /gg talk table comes the topic of scripting in FIFA. Again and again EA SPORTS is accused of some kind of “momentum” or scripting in the game. For the release of FIFA 23 kicker eSport also addressed this topic with the developers on site. Our host compactly classifies
