#BrokenBlade came as a new addition to a rebuilt #G2. The expectations for the new team were not high, but it clicked: The German plays his way directly to his first LEC title with G2.

With his new team G2 – eSports, #Sergen “Broken Blade” #Çelik has won his first title in the European League of Legends league LEC. In an interview with Deutsche Presse-Agentur, the German talks about the team dynamics at G2 and the chances at the Mid– Season Invitational.

Question: You have developed massively as a team over the playoffs. When was the point when it “clicked”?

Answer: The point was actually always there. After the loss to Fnatic, we knew something had to change. At that point, we were actually as good as we are now, but not ready. We learned a lot from that. It’s definitely because of the players and the ambitions that everyone has. It feels great to be able to play with teammates like that.

G2 Esports: Open communication and fun

Question: It looks like G2 needed a breath of fresh air that you brought in – what is the team atmosphere like at the moment?

Answer: I have a personality that is very open and fun. If you have teammates who are the same way, you just click very well. In this team, that’s exactly the case. We can have a lot of fun, but also stay serious. That’s the most important point: you have to find a balance, and that’s exactly what we have.

Question: How do you deal with defeats and criticism in the team?

Answer: At the end of the regular – Season , we also had some problems. But as a team and players, it is our job to solve them. Every player with us doesn’t have the ego to not solve the problem. I think that actually saved us in the end. That’s because we can talk to each other so openly – not only among ourselves but also with the coaching staff.

G2 at MSI: Full confidence in teammates

Question: Now you are going to the Mid– Season Invitational as the LEC representative how do you feel about your chances?

Answer: I think we can accomplish anything. G2 has done it before, why not do it again? When you play in a tournament where there are only winning teams, you have to get better. It will be a race to see who will be the best in the end and we will give everything to get better. It won’t be easy, but if it’s with my teammates, I have full confidence.
