What’s going on with the FUT Heroes?

A new SBC is currently active in Ultimate Team: the FUT Hero player selection.

When you complete it, you get a choice of 3 hero cards, one of which you can grab for your team. For that you have to trade the following card sets:

• An 83 team with at least 2 TOTW players and 55 chemistry. As a partial reward you get a small Prime Gold player pack in addition.
• Also, an 84 team. It must contain at least one TOTW player and have a chemistry of 50. Here you get a jumbo gold pack as a reward.

As the market currently stands, solving the SBCs is valued at around 80,000 coins – at least if you have to buy all the players new for it. Combined with the choice option, the risk is already lower than the FUT Hero upgrade from November.

If you can solve parts of the SBC with already existing player fodder, the price is pushed down a bit. However, these players can then no longer be traded for other SBCs – this should be taken into account.

But is the SBC worth 80,000 coins at all? If you assume the current Hero prices, there are actually only 4 cards that you should hope for with the SBC.

Which FUT Heroes are the top prize?

This is what you should pay attention to:

Even though you get 3 choices in player selection: it is quite unlikely to draw one of the top four cards. The risk of getting one of the weaker hero cards is high.

On top of that: the FUT Hero from the SBC is definitely untradeable – so you can’t score any coins with it. Therefore, the card should strengthen your team as much as possible. And real “firecrackers” there are actually only 4 pieces:

David Ginola

David Ginola is the absolute main draw if you pull him. The Frenchman is still worth over a million coins and just has really strong stats. 5 stars on skills and on the weak foot make Ginola extremely variable, plus strong stats on pace, shooting, passing and dribbling. He also offers links into Ligue 1, which is strong this year.

Iván Córdoba

Córdoba is worth about 420,000 coins as things stand and can convince as a very strong central defender. He also has great pace, plus very strong defensive and physical stats. Only his height is sometimes his undoing when it comes to headers. Still, he’s a great card that brings good links to Serie A.

Abedi Pele

Like Ginola, Abedi Pele is on the move in Ligue 1, where he can impress with strong offensive stats and the 4/4 star combination. He is currently worth about 350,000 coins on the transfer market.

The card actually has everything you need for a strong playmaker. Only his physicality is a little bit lacking, and you don’t need to defend with Abedi Pelé either.

Antonio Di Natale

The Italian attacker has also dropped a lot in price by now, but is still around 300,000 coins on the transfer market. He excels in terms of finishing and brings a high attack rate.

He is also on the move in Serie A and can build links with Italian players.

What about the rest of the FUT Heroes?

Many of the FUT Heroes have dropped in price over the last few weeks and months and can now be had for significantly less than 80,000 coins. They have now simply been overtaken by other special cards in terms of usefulness.

If you still want to have a certain card, you should rather buy it directly on the transfer market. This card can be exchanged if you want to get rid of it. One exception is Robbie Keane. The attacker currently costs about 70,000 coins on the transfer market, which is just below the SBC value. Factor in reward packs and possibly existing SBC players, and he roughly matches the value of the stake – but is still untradeable. But Keane can at least convince with good offensive values.

Following that is Joe Cole, another player for 35,000 coins, and Morientes and Kohler for 35,000 coins each. All other heroes are below 30,000, in some cases significantly. So overall, if you want to try your luck and you have a few players who might go into the SBC anyway, you can take a chance and hope for one of the top cards. However, you can also be unlucky and draw one of the many weaker options.

Along with the heroes, the icons in FIFA 22 are also there to bring legendary players of the past back onto the pitch. But even the icons have a value problem in FIFA 22.
