Four mistakes to avoid when starting FUT

Munich – September 22, 2021 is marked thick in the calendar of the motivated community. On this Wednesday, the ten hours of the FIFA 22 – Season will begin via the EA Play subscription. Starting early is great, but you should also know how to do it right and avoid mistakes.

One thing in advance: the first mistake is probably blindly pumping in money and hoping that afterwards Pay2Win settles. Only EA Sport will be successful.

But now we come to the most common mistakes that players make in FIFA every year.

Trading with EA Play Early Access

Starting September 22, everyone with an EA Play subscription will get the chance to play ten hours of FIFA 22 before release (September 27). The first mistake that will be made is to start doing squad building challenges, checking out the transfer market and trading on the console. Don’t do that with your precious ten hours.

Use those precious hours to play Squad Battles or play FUT Draft or even play Division Rivals. The important thing is that you really play to earn coins and game experience. Everything else can be done via the web app with no time limit.

Transfermarkt: Going with the Hype

Many make the mistake of starting to shop for cards after they see that a card is popular. This point in time is already too late. Basically:

Buy when everyone is selling and sell when everyone else is buying. Just before the Weekend (Thursday), everyone buys player cards to a team. The demand exceeds the supply and the value increases. So here you should not make the mistake of buying your own team, but try to knock your own cards on the transfer market.

Thinking further, everyone sells the team again after the Weekend League (Sunday or Monday). The supply exceeds the demand and the value decreases. Here you should avoid selling your own team, but try to buy cheap for the next week.

Buy OTWs after good performance

What seems logical to many is a big mistake. Don’t buy Ones to Watch (OTW) after they have made a good game.

Sure: if a player has performed well, they are likely to receive an inform card (TOTW) and therefore the OTW will go up. However, most people are aware of this, which is why the card rises sharply before the game even starts. So if you buy in after a good performance, the value will already exceed the upgrade version of the card.

Spend coins on SBCs, FUT Draft and Co.

If you avoid the above mistakes, you will notice that you were able to generate a lot of coins. Handle these coins properly and don’t waste them. Coins should be in your team or in the transfer market at all times. Do not leave them in your account and do not spend them on packs, SBCs or drafts. Buying packs is a big random factor and gives you back less in most cases and FUT draft also only gives you packs at the end of the day.

Exception for Squad Building Challenges

In a few circumstances, it is also useful to put coins into SBCs. Many starter SBCs only require weak gold cards, which you can buy on the transfer market for 350-400 coins. This is a cheap alternative to get strong packs. However, in any case, in the initial phase, stay away from non-exchangeable SBCs. These challenges will only give you cards that you can’t sell.
