What kind of dying are we talking about?

We’re talking about things that can hit you, crush you, roll over you, or crush you in nature. Players in Fortnite already knew the method of hitting opponents over the head with large tree trunks or driving over water. All of this was no longer a problem thanks to the switch to Unreal Engine 5, as now Epic can create even more realistic effects. But now players have discovered that not only trees, but also huge rocks can be your undoing.

Nature can be dangerous too!

How dangerous are rocks?

Fortnite player “Hugh-Jay-Ness” has shared a clip on reddit in which he is hiking through the desert of the new – Season 3 map, looking chipper. In his hike, however, he accidentally killed a player and only by a stinkin’ rock.

Like any player, Hugh mined materials from his surroundings while hiking. Suddenly he found himself in front of a boulder that was held in place by a stone setting. The player destroyed this setting, but did not expect the boulder to break loose and fall into the abyss. Hugh then continues walking on the dusty mountain until he suddenly receives a kill message. Astonished at this, he runs back and sees that the supposedly harmless rock has crushed and killed his opponent in the lower level. Only the remains of the same could be seen.

Which rocks are dangerous now?

For now, there are two known types of rocks that can be unleashed on your opponents.

• The red desert rocks on the mountains
• Gray round rocks in the grasslands

You must keep in mind, however, that not every large rock can be dropped on your enemies. These specific chunks are embedded in a setting made of stone by Epic Games. You’ll see and notice as you mine the small life bar, how the rock comes loose and rolls away.

Can I dodge rocks?

Fortnite has a battlefield full of dangers, and so you’ll have to go through the world with your eyes open as well. Neither walls nor other structural measures will help you to stop the rolling stones. Either you dodge the stones or get flattened. Either way, this is a cool new feature that adds variety to the battles you have to win.
