Our analysis of the best landing points on the map in Fortnite – Season 2, Chapter 3 is based on our in-game experience as well as community research on #Reddit and #YouTube.

Here on the – Season 2 map you can see our top landing spots. What exactly is so good about them and what you should pay attention to there, you will learn in the following paragraphs.

Tilted Towers

Where is the place?

This legendary POI (Point of Interest) is located south of the largest lake on the new map. You can recognize the place by the large apartment blocks that tower over all the streets. In addition, there is a clock tower in the small town.

What’s so good about it?

Things get wild in Tilted Towers. You can expect not only a lot of kills, but also a lot of loot. Each block contains a variety of items, instant items and chests. If looting each building brings you to the brink of insanity, you can use a tank to destroy each building.

This will cause the apartment blocks to collapse and the loot to land in the middle of the foundation. Then you can run over all the items and determine your loadout. Additionally, you have many cars and some escape routes available in case you are being chased.

If you want to venture on a longer journey, you can visit a gas station nearby. Fill up your vehicle and get ready for a long round.

You also have the option of visiting the airship above Tilted. There you will find enough crates and cannons that you can use as catapults. You can use them to launch yourself into the air and cover long distances.

What should you still pay attention to?

Despite the massive loot, you should note that Titled Towers is one of the most popular landing zones in Fortnite. Most players land there and fight for the right to be the first to loot the place. You should therefore proceed carefully and with caution, because some sweaty people also land there.

The occupiers of the IO troops also cause you problems. They have taken Tilted and protect the place with great firepower like tanks and strong weapons.

Shifty Shafts

Where is the place?

The location is in the north of the largest lake in Fortnite. Here, the mining facility borders the snowy area on the map.

What’s so good about it?

In Shifty Shafts you are not only surrounded by mines, but also buried treasure. You can get a lot of chests in the tunnels and thus upgrade yourself. The mines protect you from enemy fire and can be used for camping.

Additionally, the location is relatively central and allows you to get to other places quickly. The river that borders the mines to the west can be used as an escape route. Thus, with good equipment, you can face the sweaty city of Tilted Towers.

As a team, losses in Shifty are not dramatic, as a restart bus is waiting for you in the entrance area. On top of that, there’s a vending machine nearby where you can spend your gold bars to buy various goodies.

• Much protection in the mines

Cons

• Few escape possibilities
• Opponents can also camp
• No vehicles

What should still be considered?

Not only you, but also other players might hide in the mine shafts and lie in wait for you. So you have to be on your guard and cover yourself with a melee weapon.

The place doesn’t exactly have the best escape options. If you use the streets on foot, a gang of car drivers might run you over and take you out.

Big gas station next to Sanctuary

Where is the place?

The place is west of Sactuary and looks like a large rest stop and diner. You can see many gas pumps, a garage, and a large sign that says GAS.

What’s so good about it?

Maybe not as many chests, but trimmed to mobility, you can pimp your vehicle thanks to the workshop, cars and gas pumps. With it you can then travel to the different POIs to rob each player or loot places.

Since – Season 2 removed the Spider-Man web shooters from the game, cars are once again among the best means of transportation. So you can choose between different classes of cars to venture on your journey with the road tethered.

• Is almost central
• Optimal for solo

Cons

• Few boxes
• Bad for teams, trios or duos

What should you still pay attention to?

One thing to note would be the few crates. In solo, this location is appropriate as there are enough crates for optimal loadout. In team or other modes that involve more players, the loot might not be enough.

If enemies attack you, be careful not to stand too close to the gas pumps. The explosion might hit you badly and cause everything in the area to go up in flames.

Airships

Where is the place?

You can find the airships or zeppelins at almost every major POI that has been taken by IO. They hover over the locations and are connected with ziplines. This is how players can get up high. The following locations include an airship:

• Condo Canyon
• Rocky Reels
• Tilted Towers
• Command Cavern
• Coney Crossroads
• The Daily Bugle

What’s so good about it?

The airships are mobile headquarters of the enemy IO faction. They contain not only large loot boxes, but also many items to recharge your shield. Additionally, you have a higher position than the players below you. This gives you a better overview of the battle and allows you to stab your opponents in the back.

The fans that keep the airship up can be used to disappear with your glider. Ziplines are also used to access ground and air space, allowing you to quickly change your environment.

If enemies are chasing you, cannons are ready on the zeppelin’s drive wheels. With them you can shoot enemies in the distance or shoot yourself. If you shoot yourself into the air, you can cover very long distances and avoid dangerous situations.

• Many ways to escape
• High ground

Cons

• IO soldiers can give you a hard time
• In the team enemies can surround you

What should you still keep in mind?

Since the airships belong to the IO unit, the soldiers patrol on them as well. With shotguns and MPs, they can give you a hard time. If an enemy also dares to enter the airship, you will have a lot of problems on your hands.

With the horizontal ziplines, you may also fail to get onto the zeppelin platform when climbing up. This will ensure you a painful and embarrassing death.
