Update 10:43: The servers are back online and Fortnite can be accessed. The update is ready for download. On the PS5 you have to download 3.135 GB. Once you have downloaded the patch to your hard drive, you can start playing Fortnite again.

Fortnite servers go into downtime – when and for how long?

Downtime in the morning: The servers will be shut down at 9:00 AM our time to roll out update 19.01. Matchmaking is already disabled 30 minutes before, so you won’t be able to play from 08:30.

When will you be able to play again? The servers will be offline for quite a while and playing will no longer be possible, the downtime is expected to be between 30 minutes and 2 hours. This is what the updates of the past weeks have shown.

Of course, there can always be technical problems and delays during such work. If there are any complications, we will report them to you.

When are the patch notes coming? Normally, Epic Games releases little to no information about update changes in Battle Royale mode. These are often found by the community itself.

What new content will update 19.01 bring?

What’s new for Battle Royale mode? We can’t be sure about the changes yet, but leaks and dataminers have proven to be a safe source many times in the past. You can probably expect these changes:

14 Days of Fortnite: Shiina, a well-known leaker of the Fortnite scene confirms the well-known winter event (via Twitter), which has already brought many free gifts in 2020. This is scheduled to launch on December 16 and revive the famous Nutcracker Hut.

New skins for the store

Epic has created some more new and also well-known skins for Christmas, which will soon rotate through the winter store. Among them also a skin pack with Midas, Renegade Raider and Co.

Super styles for selected Battle Pass skins

There will be additional styles for the Battle Pass skins again. But you will only get them after you have reached level 100 in the Battle Pass.

Shield Sprinkler

As revealed in the trailer for the new chapter, the shield sprinkler has finally made it into the database. However, it is not clear whether the new item can be used immediately after the server down.

The Winter Festival and the new Nutcracker Hut

As in December. 2020, Fortnite celebrated the winter event on a grand scale. For this, there were 14 gifts that could be opened every day and in addition, you were invited to the hut of the nutcracker. There were many nice allusions to past times from Fortnite. Now all of that is returning.
