What’s happening in Fortnite today? Once again, Epic Games is shutting down the servers to apply a new patch. With it comes some new content, including skins and more surprises to keep players happy.

Update 12.20: The update file is available for download for all platforms. On the PS5 it is 3.138 GB. The servers were active for a short moment, but they were shut down again. Now the servers have turned on again and you can log in again. Have fun!

Important times about Fortnite server downs – when and how long?

Downtime in the morning: The servers will be shut down at 10:00 AM our time to roll out update 19.20. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes before that, so you won’t be able to search for matches after 09:30.

When will you be able to play again? The servers will be offline for quite a while and playing will no longer be possible. The downtime is expected to be between 30 minutes and 2 hours. This is what the updates of the past weeks have shown.

Of course, technical problems and delays can always occur during such work. If there are any complications, we will report them to you.

When are the patch notes coming? Normally, Epic Games releases little to no information about update changes in Battle Royale mode. These are often found by the community itself.

However, if important changes come, we will also supplement this article for you.

What new content will update 19.20 bring?

What’s new for Battle Royale mode? There are no concrete statements from the developers yet, but leaks and dataminers have often proven to be a safe source in the past. You can probably expect these changes:

Haven finally playable

Fortnite is running out of a countdown for two exclusive skins in Battle Pass. Haven is now playable, but The Rock will have to wait until February 3. We have created a guide for the Haven masks, which you can find here:

New items for the item store

Once again, new skins await you in Fortnite. However, only one has been released. This is a living queen from a poker card.

You can surely expect some more skins, which are currently still encrypted.

Heavy shotgun is back

As Hypex already tweeted, the Shotgun will once again be findable in Fortnite from all sources. So if you don’t like the new shotguns, you might have an alternative with this one.

New POI – Covert Canyon

Shiina, a known leaker, published a gameplay video of a new POI which will be accessible with today’s update. To access it, you will need a keycard that is tied to a boss.
