Fortnite Items – Junk Rift

Junk Rift

The Junk Rift is a wearable item for Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode. It is a throwable pocket tear that is held in inventory and can be used immediately. When used, it creates a rift at the point of impact, creating a large object in the sky that rushes toward the ground at breakneck speed. The falling object damages players and destroys everything in its way. It also creates a small shockwave on impact that also damages players and destroys everything within the radius.

Direct hit damage is 200. Direct hit also throws players back slightly. A shockwave hit only deals 100 damage. Both hits instantly destroy vehicles and destructible objects on impact.

Two pieces are picked up at a time and can be stacked up to four pieces in the inventory. Can be found in Chests, Vending Machines, Supply Drops, and Supply Llamas.

Watch out! Now you can defeat your enemies by dropping heavy things on them. With the power of the rift you can rain anchors, cars and more from the sky

Functionality

The Junk Rift is thrown at a surface, and a random object will be rifted from several meters up, and fall down onto the ground. The random model of the object does not affect damage and is purely visual. When the object falls, it will destroy all structures in its path. This will deal damage to players with both impact and shockwave damage, with the latter dealing only half. The rift will also spawn materials, ammo or low tier weapons from the item pool. The prop placed can be harvested like any other structure or prop. The props that will spawn are:

  • An anchor.
  • A metal Triceratops.
  • A police car (The police car will not turn into a prop, it will become a regular car prop instead).
  • A porta-potty.

trivia

  • The Junk Rift was probably added to the game as a countermeasure against the B.I.E.S.T. vehicle.
