Despite the redesign of Orgrimmar with WoW: Cataclysm, the Maw of Flames is still located deep beneath the Horde capital. The Maw of Flames (also known as Ragefire) is the first 5-man instance for low-level characters. To enter the dungeon, your character must be at least level 8 – but without higher-level support, we recommend at least level 13. You can enter the dungeon via the Dungeon Finder at level 15. The entrance and the Collection Stone are located in the Void of Shadows in the heart of Orgrimmar.

Preparing for the Instance
Stoneguard Kurjack and Bovaal Whitehorn are waiting for you in the entrance area of ​​the Maw of Flames. They will provide you with a total of three quests for the instance. In the first section of the dungeon you will encounter elementals, earthworms and humanoid opponents. Try not to attract the attention of too many enemies at the same time to make the healer’s job easier. The worms can place a stacking debuff on the tank that reduces armor. Keep in mind that you take more melee damage with weakened armor. In addition to their melee attack, the molten elementals also have a fire shield that deals fire damage to nearby enemies.

Flinteye (1)
After you have dealt with the first opponents, a horde of Troggs is waiting for you, which has gathered around the first boss “Flinteye”. Eliminate them one by one until only the leader of the Flamemaw Trogg and his two minions remain. First bring down his subjects and then deal with Flinteye himself. As a melee fighter, make sure to stay behind the trogg to avoid his cleave attack. Ranged fighters and healers stay more than five meters away from him. After Flintauge’s death, you completed the first requirement of the quest “Repel the Invasion”.

Taragaman the Hungerer (2)
After a few more worms and elementals, you’ll see the next boss, Taragaman, in the middle of a large cave. In order to get to him, however, you must first fight your way free. Eliminate the Searing Blade groups and watch out for patrolling cultists and enforcers. After that, the second boss, Taragaman, has to deal with it. Felguard has two main abilities to watch out for. His uppercut deals high damage and knocks the tank back a bit. Be careful not to be accidentally thrown into a nearby enemy group. He also casts a fire nova from time to time that hits all nearby players. To relieve the healer, ranged fighters stay as far away from Taragaman as possible. Have you accepted the quest “Taragaman the Hungerer”

Jergosh the Invoker (3)
Now continue to Jergosh the Invoker, eliminating the Searing Blade followers along the way. Jergosh himself enters combat with two Searing Blade cultists. Kill the cultists, then deal damage to the summoner. In addition to melee attacks, he casts a Curse of Weakness on your party members, reducing physical damage dealt. He also occasionally casts a magical immolate on a target that deals fire damage every 3 seconds for 15 seconds.

Getting Started

All players with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time on their accounts have access toWoW Classic at no additional cost.

1. Open the Blizzard Battle.net Desktop App and select World of Warcraft from the menu.
2. Select World of Warcraft Classic from the Version menu. If you have more than one World of Warcraft account, you’ll see a second Account drop-down list. In this column, select the active account you want to play with.
3. Click the Install button. The progress bar will tell you when your game is ready to play.
4. Click the Play button when the installation is complete.

You will need to select the realm you want to play on from several different realm types. Make sure you choose the same realm as your friends – in World of Warcraft Classic, you can only group with characters that are on the same realm as you!
