Last night, new information about the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II hailed.

Infinity Ward literally took a look at the cards and presented Sariff Bay, a 32-vs-32 map. Set in the most important port of the United Republic of Adal, players can expect plenty of action on land, sea and air.

On the other hand, a smaller and more compact 6-vs-6 map is Mercado Las Almas. There you’ll find a small, bustling market with fast-paced routes and alleys that intermingle and lead to pure, frenetic fun.

We also got a sneak peek at the return of third-person mode. Infinity Ward promises dedicated playlists and new tactical ways to play multiplayer.

Besides well-known standard modes like Team Deathmatch or Conquest, three new ones were also mentioned.

In the 20-vs-20 mode “Invasion”, for example, each team competes with 20 AI allies. Taking out enemies is the goal of the mode, but the AI will also go on the hunt.

“Knockout” and “Prisoner Rescue” are the other two modes. About the latter, it is known that it is an attack and defense mode. The mode revolves around the liberation of prisoners by the attackers. The defenders try to prevent this from happening. If a prisoner is taken, the player is not able to use a primary weapon. However, he can help his team with a radar search. Since the prisoners are not visible to you defenders, they can only be stopped at the exfiltration point.

In addition to multiplayer, a Special Ops mode has also been announced. At launch it will offer missions for two players with asymmetrical design.

Finally, the also new Raid mode tests teamwork and strategic puzzle solving between intense team fights.
