FIFA 22 Icon Token – So many exchange items are available in – Season 2 and – Season 1

Also in FIFA 22 Icon Swaps 3 there will be 18 tokens to get by solving the respective swap SBCs in the game. The tokens (also called “swap items” or “swap objects”) are again divided evenly on two – Season s, so it will take a few weeks until you have collected all of them. The schedule for the – Season s looks like this:

• The first 9 tokens of Icon Swap 3 – Season 1 will be available from Monday, April 25, 2022 (19:00) until Monday, May 23, 2022 (19:00) in FIFA 22.
• You can get another 9 tokens in Icon Swap 3 – Season 2 which are available from Monday, May 23, 2022 (19:00) to Monday, June 20, 2022 (19:00) in FIFA 22.
• You can get the first 9 tokens in FIFA 22 Icon Swap 3 – Season 1, another 9 tokens will be available in – Season 2, making a total of 18 swap objects in the third swap round.

Since the swap tokens are limited in number and the time period they are available, you should give some thought to how many tokens you want to collect and what you want to buy with them beforehand. For the new icon players, for example, you’ll have to shell out between 5 and 17 tokens, which means that for the more expensive candidates, you won’t be able to get them until – Season 2. Maybe the player is already useless then because you got something better / equivalent at another FIFA 22 event in the meantime. In this case the tokens would be better invested in the card packs. On the other hand you should consider that the offered icons in exactly these versions will not be available in a later icon swap.

Can Icon Swap 3 tokens be saved for Icon Swaps 4?

No! Unfortunately you can’t save tokens from an Icon Swap for a later swap round in FIFA 22. The reason is simple: There are unique player tokens for each Icon Swap, which are bound to the respective swap round. So you can only buy icons and packs of the third swap round with Icon Swap 3 tokens, but you can’t use them at Icon Swap 4. So there is no point in saving tokens for the next swap. Better spend them in time before they are worthless!

If you complete the Icon Swap Challenges in FIFA 22, you will get the new “Icon Swap 3 Objects” (aka “Player Tokens”) for it, which you can exchange either for one of the seven icons listed above or for different FIFA 22 map packs. Complete swap objectives in FIFA 22 with the Golden Goal rule – is it still possible?

For a few of the Icon Swaps tasks you will have to invest quite a bit of time to complete them. Especially if you have to deliver a certain number of victories. This problem existed for years before, so the FIFA community came up with a clever solution: the “Golden Goal” rule, which was supported by very many players (not all).

For a long time it wasn’t clear if the Golden Goal rule would work in FIFA 22 or if EA Sports would put a stop to it. The good news is that it is still possible. EA even explicitly pointed out that the Golden Goal rule is not a cheat and can be used by players without penalty. However, there is a small restriction: the developers have limited the number of maximum matches to 10 matches per hour. Although the measure is primarily aimed at bots, it also affects players.

This is how the Golden Goal rule of the FIFA-Communtiy works

If you don’t know the Golden Goal rule yet, the whole thing works like this: Whoever concedes a goal first in a live FUT friendly match concedes the match and gives the victory to the opponent – so to speak, the first goal decides the whole match. Since the matches are counted as friendlies, this has no effect on your win/loss stats. Of course, this unwritten rule is based on the players’ honor principle, so you can’t rely on every player following it (or knowing the rule), but usually it works quite well.

FIFA 22 Icon Swaps explained – this is how the swap event works

The Icon Swaps – in German the event is called “Icon-Tausch” – has been around for a few years now and is one of the most popular promotions in FIFA. Of course the swap program is also in FIFA 22 again and brings new icons, player tokens, card packs and icon SBCs. How the event works exactly, you can find out below.

What are Icons Swaps in FIFA

Icon Swap in FIFA 22 gives players the opportunity to solve certain SBCs (tasks) to earn “player tokens”. The tokens can then be exchanged for high-value icon cards in a new version as well as different card packs (learn more about the versions here: What’s the difference between Basic, Mid, Prime and Moment Icons in FIFA 22?). There are many reasons why the FIFA Icon Swaps are very popular, but the main reason is that you don’t have to buy the icons for thousands of coins, but you can earn them.

How many Icon Swaps are there in FIFA 22?

If things go as they did last year, there will be a total of 4 Icon Swaps in FIFA 22. The first round ran from December 15, 2021 to February 7, 2022, the second round ran from February 21, 2022 to April 18, 2022 and currently Icon Swaps 3 will run from April 25, 2022 to June 20, 2022. This is likely to be followed by another short break before Icon Swaps 4 conclude in the second half of the year. Each round brings new tokens and a new selection of basic, mid and prime icons into play. It should be noted that there will be no overlap between Icon SBCs and Icon Swaps. Meaning: if a certain version of an icon (Basic, Mid, Prime, Moment) is available via an SBC, for example, that card will not be available again via an ICON swap. The same applies the other way around, of course.
