FIFA 23 Release Date: Official Announcement

The current FIFA – Season is slowly coming to an end, but after the – Season is known to be before the – Season and accordingly many gamers ask themselves the question: When will FIFA 23 come out and will it be the last one after the license negotiations between EA Sports and FIFA failed? According to an industry insider, it should be the end of September. How realistic this is, what we know about the FIFA 23 release date and how the FIFA series will continue, you can read below.

When will FIFA 23 be released?

EA Sports has announced the release date: FIFA 23 is scheduled to be released on Friday, September 30, 2022 (00:00) for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Stadia . There is also again a FIFA 23: Nintendo Switch Legacy Edition, but as usual only in a heavily slimmed down version.

If you want, you can now pre-order FIFA 23. With the Ultimate Edition you get Early Access again and this time you can start three days before (from September 27, 2022). By the way, as cover starts of the UE there are two players to admire for the time this time: FIFA 23: Kerr and Mbappe on the cover, for the first time with a woman.

FIFA 23 will be released on September 30, 2022 and can be pre-ordered now.

With September 30 as FIFA 23 release date EA continues the tradition of the release canon – to postpone the next FIFA offshoot in the last two weeks of September or the first two weeks of October. Here once the release dates of the last years.

  • FIFA 23 = September 30th 2022
  • FIFA 22 = October 1, 2021
  • FIFA 21 = October 9, 2020
  • FIFA 20 = September 24, 2019
  • FIFA 19 = September 28, 2018
  • FIFA 18 = September 29, 2017
  • FIFA 17 = September 27, 2016
  • FIFA 16 = 22 September 2015

FIFA 23 will be the last from EA Sports

FIFA 23 already represents a milestone, because it is the last game under the name of the FIFA series. After almost 30 years of cooperation EA Sports and FIFA have not agreed on the licensing – the world football federation wanted to collect for its four letters significantly more than the previous 150 million dollars per year -, so Electronic Arts drew a line under the name of the FIFA series at the beginning of May and continues in the future under the guise of “EA Sports FC” (the “FC” stands for “Football Club”).

FIFA, for its part, has announced its intention to partner with a new developer to produce the “only authentic, real game with the FIFA name”, which will then continue the FIFA series with FIFA 24. It is not yet known who this “new” developer will be, but the most obvious choice would probably be direct competitor Konami with its eFootball series (aka Pro Evolution Soccer / PES). Konami has been spending more and more money on improving its soccer simulation for a few years now and has already snatched away some top-class club licenses from EA in the past (Juventus Torino, AS Roma, Atalanta Bergamo and others).

The best comes at the end! FIFA 23 is supposed to top everything so far

FIFA 23 is said to be the “most comprehensive game ever” with “more features, game modes, clubs, leagues” according to EA Sports. These claims are backed up with numerous names of major leagues, associations, competitions, clubs, players and stadiums licensed. There is talk of more than 19,000 players, 700 teams, 100 stadiums and 30 leagues, UEFA Champions , UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana, Premier League, Bundesliga and LaLiga Santander as well as the Barclays Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema from women’s soccer. The Men’s World Cup in Qatar and the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand are also included in FIFA 23

FIFA 23 is said to be the best FIFA ever (because the last one from EA) thanks to numerous improvements.

Features like HyperMotion 2 and an enhanced physics system are meant to make the experience even more immersive and are now available to computer gamers, finally bringing FIFA 23 on PC up to par with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in terms of technology. The long requested FIFA 23 Crossplay feature also celebrates its arrival, but only for certain players.
