FIFA 23 Release: All info about the game

With the last “typical” spin-off of the series is coming in autumn. Here you can find out everything about the FIFA 23 release, the content, trailers and information about the game.

When will FIFA 23 be released?

When is the FIFA 23 release date? The official release date of FIFA 23 is September 30, 2022, with the exception of the Ultimate Edition: this already gives advance access from September 27, 2022.

However, a month before the official FIFA 23 release, a bug occurred that allowed some players on Xbox to already play.

Are FIFA 23 ratings known yet? Because of the Xbox leak from August some ratings for FIFA 23 are already known. Among other things, users showed how strong the best players in the game will be. Cristiano Ronaldo is still one of them – but the Manchester attacker gets a strong downgrade.

This is known about Crossplay: In addition to the trailer, several pieces of information about the game’s content have been released. Especially important: Crossplay will be officially part of FIFA 23 in the 1-against-1 modes. So you can play against your friends across multiple platforms.

There are two groups: The “NextGen” variants can play with each other, so PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PC and Stadia.

In addition, the PS4 and Xbox One can play against each other. This is because the versions differ too much across generations, for example through HyperMotion.

There was further info on this:

  • FIFA 23 brings special contents to the world championships of men and women
  • Women’s club teams come into play
  • HyperMotion has been updated and is now called “HyperMotion 2”, with even more animations
  • In Ultimate Team there will be so-called “World Cup Heros”.

FIFA 23: Leagues and clubs

These leagues and clubs are included: FIFA 23 is said to feature over 30 leagues, with more than 19,000 players, over 700 teams and numerous other licenses.

Among others, 3 new leagues are available in FIFA 23:

  • The Barclays Women’s Super (England)
  • D1 Arkema (France)
  • BKT series

FIFA 23: All official stadiums

Which stadiums are new? In total there will be 5 completely new stadiums in FIFA 23.

  • Europa-Park Stadium (SC Freiburg)
  • Academy Stadium (ManCity)
  • Philips Stadium (PSV Eindhoven)
  • El Sadar (Osasuna)
  • Bank of California Stadium (LA FC)

FIFA 23: Hero cards return

These are heroes in FIFA 23: The hero cards already existed in FIFA 22, now the series is extended. This time there are players like Rudi Völler among others, who will come into the game with strong stats and chemistry bonuses.

FIFA 23: Who is on the cover?

The cover stars this year are Chelsea FC’s Sam Kerr and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé. Depending on which version you have, the cover will be different. You can see the options here:

The Standard Edition (Australia & New Zealand)
The Ultimate Edition (global)

What else does FIFA 23 come with at release? Official info

This is already known: In the course of the announcement of “EA Sports FC” EA Sports stated that they still want to release the “most comprehensive FIFA” ever before.

Cam Weber, EVP of EA Sports, wrote about this in a statement (via ea.com) that FIFA 23 should be the best FIFA ever. Furthermore, he stated that FIFA 23 should contain more compared to the other FIFA titles, such as:

  • More features
  • More game modes
  • World Cup content
  • More clubs
  • More leagues
  • More competitions
  • More players

Furthermore it can be deduced from the “EA Sports FC” announcement that the following contents will also end up in FIFA 23 – because they are supposed to be there again in the following year:

  • Ultimate Team
  • Career mode
  • Pro Clubs
  • VOLTA
  • More than 19,000 players
  • More than 700 teams
  • Over 100 stadiums
  • 30 leagues

Ultimate Team – Changes in FIFA 23

The Ultimate Team mode gets some adjustments, for example in chemistry, but also in small things like position changes.

Instead of the previously known position change cards, there will be only one, which will then offer different options depending on the player. Players should then be able to switch to individual secondary positions – which will make FUT a bit more realistic.

Position play could change in FIFA 23

In addition, there will be a new mode called “FUT Moments” that will give you small challenges through which you can get quick rewards.

You can read more about the new features in Ultimate Team here.

Shouldn’t it be called something else? No: It has been known for a while that FIFA 23 will be released – and it will also bear this name. Because the separation of EA Sports and FIFA will not take place until 2023.

So there will be no more “FIFA 24” from EA Sports, but instead the new “EA Sports FC”. The world association “FIFA”, on the other hand, would then like to create its own games with other developers.
