FIFA 23 loses another license to eFootball. This time it’s the Mexican league BBVA MX, which has officially confirmed a partnership with eFootball.
Licenses are still one of the most important things in FIFA. And anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves. But nowadays you turn on FIFA and you might wonder what the hell is a Lazio or a Piemonte Calcio or why there are less and less national teams per game. FIFA is slowly losing licenses, that’s the sad truth. And probably the worst part is that they’re losing them to eFootball, which isn’t even a finished game.
A new case was officially announced recently and it will affect the next FIFA title. FIFA 23 loses another license, this time for a whole league!
FIFA 23 loses another license! Liga BBVA MX comes to eFootball
The official Twitter account of Liga BBVA MX, the top league in Mexico, has announced a partnership with eFootball. This means that FIFA 23 will lose the license for this league! Check out the official announcement here:
This is just a shame, because Liga MX is unique and quite iconic among international fans. Who wouldn’t want a ridiculously strong SBC from Gignac or Thauvin? We will also sorely miss the legend Guillermo Ochoa….
Also, it just sucks to lose representation due to lack of licenses as well. Especially since FIFA has always bragged about having “everything”. This claim is slowly being lost, and that’s a shame. Sure, the MX league isn’t the biggest league in the game and securing the rights to Serie A was probably a priority for EA. But MX is one of the biggest leagues in Central/Latin America and a large part of the fan base will not be happy about FIFA 23 losing this license. Besides, it surely won’t be the last license EA will lose for FIFA 23, will it?
