FIFA 23: Horse whinny after goal?

Munich – In autumn , the last part of the soccer simulation of the Canadian developer studio “EA Sports”, will be released. ran gives an overview of all and innovations!

FIFA 23: Further innovations and features

Like every year EA has worked hard on the visuals of the game. Thereby FIFA 23 was probably especially a focus on the fans, the goal net and the lawn. Everything should look even more authentic.

In addition – like in real soccer more and more often – now also female referees step on the lawn in FIFA 23. From the past, die-hard FIFA gamers only knew the male referees, like Matthew Mzizi, Vyacheslav Bondartchuk or Leonidas Lambrakis.

For those who prefer to turn off the commentators in FIFA, in the future there will be an option to run the menu music during matches. As for the goal sounds, in the new game there are special sound effects that can be heard when a goal is scored. Among them is probably a horse whinny.

FIFA 23: This is new in the career mode

As always there will be the career mode in FIFA 23. The popular mode is divided into the player and manager career. In both modes there are new features again this year.

In the player career, there are three new ways to develop your virtual player. “Maverick”: the loner who gives everything to succeed. “Virtuoso”: skill-heavy and intelligent. “Heartbeat”: the engine of the team. There is also a focus on activities off the pitch. From managing assets to going shopping to interacting with teammates, it’s all there.

In the manager mode, there is for the time the possibility to play real coaches – such as Jürgen Klopp. Until now, you could only create a manager. In addition, the “Transfer Analyst” feature gives you an assessment of the transfers you make as a manager.

As for the , with the feature “Playable Highlights” you can play only the most important events in the simulation of a match – such as – penalties, corner kicks and free kicks. With the “Dynamic Moments”, the game offers more sequences where the virtual player is celebrated by teammates in the dressing room.

FIFA 23: World Cup Heroes in Ultimate Team

Suitable for the World Cup in Qatar there will be so called World Cup Heroes in the Ultimate Team mode of FIFA 23. These are special variants of the Heroes, which were included in FIFA 22 for the first time.

Now EA Sports has already confirmed three of these new Special Cards of players who are considered as legends in their respective home countries. Yaya Toure (Ivory Coast), Ji-sung Park (South Korea) and Ricardo Carvalho (Portugal).

In addition to their basic FUT Hero card, these three players will also receive a special version for the World Cup in Qatar due to a special moment they celebrated at international level.

Toure is Ivory Coast’s record-breaking international and, along with Didier Drogba among others, defined an era for the Ivorians. Park was largely responsible for South Korea’s semifinal appearance in the 2002 home World Cup. Together with Cristiano Ronaldo, Carvalho brought the European Championship title to Portugal in 2016.

FIFA 23: Which teams are included?

The usual licensed teams will be back in FIFA 23. And there is a prominent returnee: Juventus Torino! The Italian Tradiotionsklub enters a long-standing partnership with EA Sports and is again part of the game. Previously, the Italian record champion played as “Piemonte Calcio”.

FIFA 23: What’s new?

“It’s going to be the greatest FIFA ever,” is the clear announcement from FIFA 23’s line producer, Matthew Lafreniere. The game is supposed to offer a worldwide experience. This means that cross-play between different consoles will be possible in the 1vs1 modes – most likely also in the popular “Ultimate Team” mode.

However, crossplay will only work between the same console generations. So owners of a Playstation 5 can compete against people with an XBOX One X, but not against Playstation 4 or XBOX One players. Again, gamers of the old console generation also have the option to play games with each other.

Women’s soccer also takes a significant place in FIFA 23. As with the men’s World Cup in Qatar, the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand is integrated into the game. In addition, numerous women’s teams will be playable.

Technically, FIFA 23 continues what it started a year ago with “Hypermotion” technology. With “Hypermotion 2” the game and the animations will be even more realistic, exact details about the technology will be announced by EA Sports.

FIFA 23: Who is on the cover?

Chelsea FC’s Australian Samantha Kerr will be the first woman on the worldwide cover of “FIFA 23”. But she is not alone, next to her is PSG star Kylian Mbappé also on the common cover of the “Ultimate Edition”.

In addition, Mbappé is emblazoned on the Standard Edition of the title, while Sam Kerr graces the Standard Edition in Australia and New Zealand.

FIFA 23: When will the game be released?

An exact date has not yet been set. However, no game has ever been released later than October 6. A sales launch between September 18 and October 6 is considered likely.

FIFA 23: What happens after that?

After 30 years, the partnership with the eponymous world soccer association will end and not be extended. Both FIFA itself and Electronic Arts plan to release their own games.

For 2024, “EA Sports” has already published the name of the successor title. From next year, the series will be called “EA Sports FC”.

FIFA 23: How much does the game cost?

Exact prices have not been communicated yet. However, there will again be two versions – the Standard and the “Ultimate Edition”. Most likely, the prices will be based on those of the predecessor.

  • Standard Edition for PS5, XBOX Series X/S: 79,99 Euro
  • Standard Edition for PS4 and XBOX One: 59,99 Euro
  • Standard Edition for PC and Steam: 59,99 Euro
