Electronic Arts announces the EA SPORTS “FIFA 22” Team of the Year. More than 7 million fans from around the world participated in the voting from Jan. 10-17, selecting their favorite players from a list of 80 nominees to determine this year’s starting eleven. The Team of the Year player items will be available in the FIFA Ultimate Team game mode starting next week. The strikers will start on Friday, January 21, 2022.
“The EA SPORTS FIFA Team of the Year authentically represents the opinions of millions of football fans. They rate the best players in the world and vote for the ones they think were most important in the 2021 football year,” said David Jackson, VP of Brand at EA SPORTS FIFA. “Every year, we are thrilled by the engagement of our global soccer community. And we’re honored to be able to feature their chosen eleven in ‘FIFA 22’.”

Jorginho (ITA) – Chelsea: Jorginho recorded 25 wins on the ball for Italy at the 2021 European Championship, the most of any player at a tournament.
N’Golo Kanté (FRA) – Chelsea: N’Golo Kanté finished with 1.8 wins on the ball per 90 minutes in all competitions for Chelsea in 2021 – the best of any player with at least 2,000 minutes played for the club.

João Cancelo (POR) – Manchester City: João Cancelo made the most passes of any outside defender in Europe’s top 5 leagues (2403).
Rúben Dias (POR) – Manchester City: Rúben Dias walked off as winner in 32 of 39 league games played – the most for a defender in Europe’s top 5 leagues.
Marquinhos (BRA) – Paris St. Germain: Marquinhos completed 2901 of 3131 attempted passes in all competitions for Paris St. Germain in 2021 – more than any other player at the club.
Achraf Hakimi (MAR) – Paris St. Germain: Achraf Hakimi has 151 touches in the opposition penalty area in league games in 2021 – more than any other defender in Europe’s top 5 leagues over the whole year.
Goalkeeper
Gianluigi Donnarumma (ITA) – Paris St. Germain: Gianluigi Donnarumma was awarded Player of the Tournament at the European Championship. This makes him the only goalkeeper to win this award.
