The popular Pro Clubs mode gets some new features in FIFA 22. EA revises some customization options. We present you the most important changes.

If Pro Clubs doesn’t mean anything to you, I’ll summarize the most important details. Pro Clubs is the mode where you create your own pro and play online with your buddies (or even strangers). Depending on the position you choose, you only control your pro on the pitch.

Some call the mode the supreme discipline. At least in terms of team play, nothing beats Pro Clubs. Solo efforts are unwelcome and idiots who line up as central defenders only to hang out up front in the attack destroy the whole game experience.

FIFA 22 Pro Clubs: The most important changes
Let’s start with the women. Because of a glitch we could already play as female pros in FIFA 21, now they are officially in the game. But there are no big differences to the male pros.

More interesting are the perks, for example. Besides the skill tree you now have more options to make your pro stronger. You can activate up to three perks at the same time. As an example, EA showed us an assist perk that boosts your passing values in the next 15 in-game minutes after a successful pass. We are curious to see what effect this will have.

Also nice to have are new settings for turf patterns, fan chants and stands. But they don’t really blow us away. The leveling comes off better.

New level system in Pro Clubs mode
The skill points remain the same. However, a new level system ensures that you can improve your pro even more effectively. At least that’s the plan. How exactly this will work is not yet known.

We are disappointed by the jersey settings. There is the new option to colorize back numbers and names. However, we would have been more pleased about new patterns.

The new player search is useful, though. This makes it easy to find a game. However, it is questionable whether playing with strangers is fun. We know the players who never stay in their position and dribble too much all the time.

Drop-Ins
Every Pro Clubs veteran knows this: joining the same lobby with ten different people was anything but easy. But for FIFA 22 EA has come up with something special. With the new drop-in mode you can play with up to four buddies for the same team – very easy, without annoying lobby sweating. By the way, this also allows you to collect experience points without having to leave your club. So play with your friends or meet new people – do whatever you want! On top of that, you can choose your play style… and really play your favorite position!

Player Growth
No matter what mode you’re playing, experience points are everywhere. Between drop-in, league, cup or even in some friendly matches you can bring your pro up to level 25. Whether you have earned your points through blatant skills or with lame cross passes, you can see in a list after the game.

But that’s not all. If you really want to dig in, you can now even access personal heat maps or statistics. So you finally know who really has an impact on the game and who of you is just spouting hot air.

Perks
EA has conjured up something fine for leveling up. When you start the new – Season with your pro, you can choose one of three perks. With every level up you unlock more unique perks. But beware: you can’t use them all. Your pro only has 3 perk slots available. If you have played through to level 25, you can choose between 26 perks, but you can only use 3. This ensures variety! To help you plan ahead for your Pro, we’ve listed the different Perks here:

Attack Perks

• Distance Shooter: Increases your accuracy and shooting power with distance shots. You unlock the finesse shot and the 5 star weak foot skill.
• One Time Shot: Increases your finishing skills. You unlock the Finesse Shot and the Power Header trait, your finishing with the weak foot is increased.
• Set Piece Beacon: Increases your header power in standard situations for 5 seconds. You unlock the Power header trait.
• Clutch Finisher: Increases your shooting attributes for the last 15 minutes of the game, including overtime. You unlock the finesse shot and the power header trait. Your finish with the weak foot is increased.
• Hot Streak: After you score a goal, your shooting attributes increase for 15 minutes. You unlock the finesse shot and the power header trait. Your finish with the weak foot is increased.
• Quick Reply: After your team concedes a goal, your shot attributes increase for 15 minutes. You unlock the Finesse Shot and the Power Header trait. Your finish with the weak foot is increased.

Playmaker Perks

• Assist Streak: After you set up a goal, your passing attributes are boosted for 15 minutes.
• Skilled Dribbler: Increases your skills in dribbling and skill moves. Gives you the skill flair.
• Standard Specialist: Increases your skills in standard situations. Gives you the Long Throw and Standard Specialist skills.
• Active First Touch: Increases your ball control, speed and kick after your first touch.
• Threaded Pass: Increases your accuracy with both normal and high passes. Gives you the ability spin.
• Precision Pass: Increases your passing accuracy and speed.
• Tireless Runner: Gives you the Second Air and Solid traits.
• Pinpoint Cross: Increases your accuracy when hitting crosses.
