What is this event?

The “Versus” event started on Friday with the “Fire” team, which brought different cards with different value boosts. Today, Monday, December 13, this team will be replaced by the “Ice” team. From 19:00 the new cards will be in the packs of FIFA 22.

Keep in mind though: the chance of getting strong special cards in packs is quite low.

What’s special:

The unusual thing about the event is that it is once again the same players who get a special card. Gabriel Jesus, Rashford, Valverde – all the players from the “Fire Team” are also in the “Ice Team”.

However, the cards differ from each other in detail. Certain values are raised, while others are lowered.

• ST: Gabriel Jesus (89) – 89 pace instead of 93, but 91 shot instead of 87
• LM: Rashford (88) – 87 dribbling instead of 90, but 83 physicality instead of 80
• ZM: Valverde (87) – 80 defense instead of 84, but 86 passing instead of 82
• IV: Koundé (87) – 76 dribbling instead of 82, but 85 physicality instead of 80
• RF: Adama Traoré (86) – 76 passing instead of 86, but 83 shooting instead of 75
• ST: Correa (86) – 86 shot instead of 89, but 91 pace instead of
• IV: Gomez (86) – 82 physicality instead of 84, but 89 defense instead of 87.
• ZM: Pereyra (85) – 79 shot instead of 83, but 77 defense instead of 73
• LV: Schulz (85) – 78 passing instead of 84, but 85 dribbling instead of 79
• RV: Mbabu (85) – 79 defense instead of 84, but 84 pass instead of 75
• ZOM: Claude-Maurice (84) – 75 physicality instead of 80, but 80 defense instead of 75

If one wants to determine the differences, one must therefore become a quite detailed look. To what extent one can really speak of “different player types” is questionable – after all, the value changes are greater with some players than with others.

An example: The Rashford card brings a bit more physicality than dribbling, but is still very comparable to the old card. A bit more interesting is the change of Traoré, who gets better shooting values instead of passing values and thus becomes more of a striker than an enabler.

What else is in the event?

So far, the Versus event has delivered, among other things, new icon SBCs as well as special cards in the weekly tasks. It’s possible that there are more special objectives and squad building challenges hidden in the rest of the event week. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
