FIFA 22 annoys players with lousy compensation for the most important Weekend League of the year

The past Weekend League ended earlier than expected. Now FIFA22 distributes a compensation – but it is not enough from the point of view of many players.

What is the problem?

For the currently running “Team of the – Season ” event, the times of the Weekend League have been adjusted. Instead of running from Friday to Monday morning, the Weekend League now runs from Friday, 21:00 to Wednesday, 09:00 in the morning. At least that’s how it was originally announced.

But the last Weekend League ended 24 hours early. This was indicated in the game by a countdown timer, but who had relied on the original announcement and logged in, for example, Tuesday evening to tear off a few games, looked into the tube.

EA Sports also confirmed via Twitter that this was a mistake.

As compensation, they have now thought of the following:

  • Players who qualified for the last FUT Champions Finals will be credited with 1,500 FUT Champions qualification points for the next week.
  • Also, a – Season goal is scheduled to be released early next week, which includes an untradeable Prime Gold player pack and 3000 XP.

But the response to this announcement is largely negative. Because players apparently expected something more here.

Of all things, the Premier League weekend comes with errors

This is what players criticize:

Both in the subreddit and in the Twitter comments, the compensation is criticized as not sufficient. The main reason: Last weekend you could earn the Premier League TOTS players as part of the Player Picks.

Premier League cards are traditionally the most popular in Ultimate Team, and the TOTS cards are particularly strong. At the same time, though, they’re darn expensive and hard to come by in packs. Accordingly, the Weekend League is one of the best ways to get these cards – for some, this Weekend League is the most important in the FIFA year.

The fact that you now only get qualification points and a 45,000-coin pack is not enough for many. That’s what some write on Twitter:

  • “So… you’re giving people an average pack to play for to make up for the loss of the good packs instead of just giving them free packs,” commented one.
  • “It can’t be that this is the compensation given to people who missed the PL Reds. Disgraceful!”
  • Another user says on Twitter: “Wouldn’t it have been easier to compensate those who failed to finish their 20 games? This seems like a strange way to go about it.”

There is also similar criticism on reddit:

“This issue didn’t affect me since I play WL on Saturdays, but this compensation is a joke for those who were affected,” wrote user gobaldygooch (via reddit), for example. And he continued, “I understand that it’s probably hard for EA to figure out who exactly was affected, but this compensation is terrible.”

He thinks the qualifying points won’t do much, just like the XP: “So you’re left with a 45k pack that you won’t get until there are no more packs for Prem-TOTS. At the same time, there will be some people who completely missed out on red picks of Prem-TOTS worth hundreds of thousands of coins (not tradeable).”

Overall, some players here expected a better balance. Namely, on May 13, the Premier League TOTS will be replaced in FIFA 22 and you won’t be able to pull it out of packs for the time being. From 19:00 the Bundesliga TOTS will appear in Ultimate Team instead.
