In FIFA22, there are numerous goals that you can complete for rewards. However, they can become very time-consuming, which annoys some players.
When you log into #UltimateTeam, after a few clicks you’ll find the goals and milestones that can be completed in FIFA 22. These bring a wide variety of rewards – from XP to packs to players.
Especially with the current #TOTS event there are a lot of exciting cards you can get there: For example, the Team-of-the– Season version of Dante, Ajorque or Maxim.
The good thing is that you can get the cards by playing without buying packs. However, there is criticism about how much effort the players sometimes mean.
No room for the extra tasks in FIFA 22?
That’s the problem:
Large portions of the weekly goals and milestones with player rewards in FIFA 22 take place in friendly modes. That means they sometimes get special conditions and can be completed without your players losing contracts.
Also, defeats don’t affect your record or your coin boost per game – so you can quit early without consequences. This “golden goal system” is popular and has even become its own mode.
So the fact that the goals take place in friendly matches brings certain advantages and was a new solution in FIFA 22, after they used to take place in competitive modes like Division Rivals or Weekend League. This brought the problem that strong players dropped in the tiers to be able to complete the goals there more easily – which spoiled the fun for players in the lower leagues.
Lots of tasks require lots of games
But now there is a new problem with the tasks: Because since they now take place in the friendlies, you have another field to plow. You can no longer play in Rivals at the same time, earn points for the Weekend League, and solve the tasks on the side. And then there are the Squad Battles and FUT Champions, which you also want to play when in doubt.
That’s what the community says:
In the FIFA subreddit it is just discussed that some players feel the effort in the goals is too high. So writes a user:
Does anyone else think that the number of games you have to play for goals is ridiculous?
Seriously, 20 games with teams that are mostly weak leagues, 10-15 potentially for Dante, 8 for Ajorque. And that’s before the 8 games for “good” Rivals rewards, icon swaps, FUT Champs qualification, and up to 20 games in Champs.

The post got a decent discussion going with over 100 comments. There, some players discuss that it has simply become too much for them:
- “Yeah, that’s why I don’t play them either. Rivals, WL and the occasional Squad Battles game is enough for me,” says one user (via reddit).
- “Since they moved the objectives from Rivals to friendlies, I’ve almost completely given up on them. I pretty much only play on the weekends, and I can’t sacrifice all those games to a useless playlist,” describes another (via reddit): “Also, in Rivals it was possible to passively complete objectives (for example, completing a Brazilian objective if you had a Brazilian team, which is no longer the case).
There are dissenting voices as well. One of them says that you only have to fulfill certain goals – and not all of them. Just the ones you really like. However, other players think that even then the effort is not necessarily worth it:
For me, it kind of depends. For example, maps like Ajorque, with the Saudi/Belgian Pro/Turkish League targets are too much for what those maps are. These cards are mediocre cards that many people won’t use. Cards like Dante or Fati are different for me because they are actually usable, solid to good cards. With those, the grind doesn’t bother me because they’re really worth it.

Others also emphasize that the ratio simply has to be right. However, certain tasks, such as those for the current TOTS tokens, simply don’t measure up. They are simply too time-consuming for the rewards they ultimately bring.
Anyway, the reward system in FIFA 22 is always an impulse for discussions. Because: You also have to play a lot in the other modes to get good rewards in the end.
That’s been scaled down with the Weekend League, which only requires 20 games instead of 30 this year, but with Division Rivals and Qualifiers, it’s still a lot of time to put in.
The alternative to the grind is to buy a lot of packs in FIFA 22. But there is a high risk due to the luck factor that you won’t get the value you hoped for in the end.
