The new TOTW 22 in FIFA 21 is finally here. Was it worth the sweating in the Weekend League last weekend? We tell you which players made it into the new Team of the Week.

TOTW 21 really lacked highlights last week. Does it look better this week?

It sure does! Two of the most popular meta strikers ever, Cristiano Ronaldo (Piemonte Calcio) and Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) are in the new Team of the Week (TOTW 22), while Serie A can look forward to another inform card from goalkeeper Samir Handanovic (Inter Milan) and La Liga gets a new strong full-back in Lucas Vazquez (Real Madrid).

Only the Bundesliga is somewhat weakly represented this week, providing only two substitutes.

Amin Younes (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Renato Steffen (VFL Wolfsburg) are two Bundesliga players in TOTW 22 as well, but all eyes are on the top three players.

This past weekend, your Weekend League efforts may have finally paid off, because if you pull Cristiano Ronaldo (Piemonte Calcio) or Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) from Weekend League Rewards, your offense shifts up a gear right away.

Not to mention the two FUT Headliners cards of Dayot Upamecano (RB Leipzig) and Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), which also increase with the release of TOTW 22 by winning four games in a row.

FIFA 23 WILL BE THE LAST PART OF THE GAME SERIES UNDER THIS NAME

FIFA 23 will be the last part of the game series to be released under the name of the world governing body and in collaboration with EA. For months the rumor mill was bubbling, now all this has been confirmed by the game makers EA in May 2022. The fact is that after almost 30 years of partnership between EA Sports and FIFA, the license agreement between the two parties will expire with the game FIFA 23.

Already with the launch of FIFA 22, Electronic Arts revealed the following in a blog post: There exists “the idea to rename our global EA Sports soccer games.” According to speculation, the world governing body FIFA has demanded double the amount for a continuation of the cooperation in new contract negotiations with EA. Exact figures have not been confirmed, but it is said to have been a sum in the billions for a total of ten more years.

So it is not surprising that the partnership of EA and FIFA ends with the upcoming game FIFA 23.
