Is the SBC worth it?
Until February 6th you have time to complete the Mid Icon Upgrade SBC in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team. You will have to pay about 600.000 coins for it.
Sounds like a bargain, considering that Pelé is worth 5.8 million coins and Ronaldo is currently worth 8.15 million coins on the transfer market, right?
Well: things are not quite that simple. The mid icon upgrade SBC is an absolute gamble. Because the mid icon you get for completing it is randomly selected. If you’re unlucky, you’ll end up with Filippo Inzaghi or Ryan Giggs from the pack, who are only worth a fraction of the coins invested.
Whether the SBC deal is worth it depends entirely on your budget and whether you still have plenty of untradeable players at the club. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a huge bargain. So if you have a lot of coins available, the SBC is definitely worth a look.
Mid Icon Upgrade SBC solution: The most favorable way
There are a total of four teams you’ll need to trade for the Mid Icon Upgrade SBC, all of which come with exorbitantly high requirements:
- Team with 84 OVR (minimum 75 chemistry).
- Team with 85 OVR (at least 1 TOTW, at least 70 Chemistry)
- Team with 86 OVR (at least 65 chemistry)
- Team with 86 OVR (at least 1 TOTW, at least 60 chemistry)
Team 1: 84-Rated Squad
By far the cheapest team at around 72,000 coins. Here you combine a trio of Ajax Amsterdam with various players from Benfica or SSC Napoli to achieve the required chemistry.
Team 2: 85-Rated Squad
Here, just under 140,000 coins are already due. The cheapest way is through a combination of Serie A and Spanish La Liga. Central defender Cristian Romero from TOTW 18 serves as the inform card.
Team 3: 86-rated squad
For the third team, we’re already at about 200,000 coins, combining a whole four leagues.
Team 4: 86-Rated-Squad
Despite the TOTW requirement, the fourth team turns out to be just under 10,000 coins more expensive than the third team. Here you combine the Ligue 1 with the English Premier League. You use center back Marcelo from Olympique Lyon as an inform card.
FIFA Squad Building Challenges (short SBC)
The FIFA Squad Building Challenges (SBC for short) are about putting together a team according to certain specifications. They are an important part of FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) and bring coins, valuable packs or special cards when fulfilled.
For the most part, you’ll have to line up eleven players that you have in your club and then send this squad off. These players will then disappear from your club. In return, you’ll receive a reward, such as a pack or a special card. As with FIFA 19, FIFA 20 and FIFA 21 we will report about the latest SBCs for FIFA 22 here and help you to judge if it is worth to complete a challenge.
START WITH THE SQUAD BUILDING CHALLENGES
In Squad Building Challenges (SBCs), you can use your player items to build unique teams based on various challenge conditions. You can then submit these to receive bonuses.
Here’s how:
- From the FIFA 22 main menu, select the FIFA Ultimate Team section.
- In the home page section, select Squad Building Challenges and call them up.
- Select the challenge you want to complete. They are grouped by category.
Create a team.
- Using items from your club or from the transfer market, build a team that meets the challenge conditions. Usually this is a mix of player quality, team chemistry, team value, nationalities, leagues and clubs.
Master the Challenge to submit your team and receive bonuses.
- All SBC submissions cannot be undone. Once you complete an SBC, the submitted items will be permanently removed from your club in exchange for bonuses. Our consultants cannot restore submitted items.
- For some SBCs, you will only have a limited amount of time to complete them. Once a challenge has expired, you will no longer be able to submit a team.
More details about SBCs
- Some SBCs consist of multiple challenges with individual bonuses and a larger overall completion bonus. Other challenges are single challenges.
- Some SBCs are repeatable. You have a chance to get different bonuses for each team submission, but you might also get the same bonus.
- SBCs are available in all FIFA 22 versions, but they can vary depending on the platform. Bonuses can also vary from platform to platform.
