FUT 21 What If – How do the upgrades work?
FUT What If Players are dynamic cards that can receive a one-time +2 upgrade if their team meets certain criteria in real-world football.
- Forwards and midfielders will be upgraded if their respective club scores at least 6 goals in the next 5 domestic league games .
- Defenders and goalkeepers will be upgraded if their respective club keep at least 1 clean sheet in the next 5 domestic league games .
Individual, performance-related upgrades, on the other hand, are not possible – unlike with the FUT Headliners , for example.
Update vom 26.02. – FUT 21 What If-Leak
New FUT What If event loading screen reveals details
Meanwhile, a new loading screen in FIFA 21 reveals more details about the FUT What If promo event. In addition to the three players , there are three details on the edge of the screen that catch the eye:
Apparently there are three ways the live maps get an upgrade:
- What If card upgrades take effect after 5 games
- 6 goals are required
- 1 “Clean Sheat”, i.e. a game without conceding a goal, are necessary
It is currently unclear whether these goals apply to the team or to the respective player.
The FUT What If upgrades are most likely to come when a player has scored 6 goals after 5 games or, for defensive players, won a clean sheet within 5 games .
If a player succeeds, a rating boost of +2 points beckons , which is likely to be unique .
The new loading screen also teases the first three FUT 21 What If players .
What If Alejandro Gomez
On the left we see a ZOM player with a total of 90 from Sevilla FC . It can actually only be winter newcomer Alejandro Gómez .
FUT 21 What If Kevin Mbabu
In the middle, the FIFA 21 loading screen shows a player from VFL Wolfsburg with 94 pace . Here, too, only two cards really come into question: right -back Kevin Mbabu and left- back Jérôme Roussillon .
However, we assume that it should be the Swiss Mbabu , since his gold card can show the higher speed value in comparison.
What If N’Golo Kanté
On the right we see a Chelsea London player with 89 Defense . Again, only two players come into question: Thiago Silva and N’Golo Kanté .
For us, the choice falls on the Frenchman Kanté, because Silva already has a live card in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team ( Ones to Watch ) and it is unlikely that EA Sports will give him another one.
When does the What If promo start in FIFA 21?
Since yesterday’s loading screen in FUT mode, we know: What If begins on February 26, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. German time . The new event is expected to extend over a period of two weeks .
FUT What If-Kartendesign
We don’t know much about the new FUT event yet, but the loading screen also reveals what the map design of the What If promo will look like.
What can we expect from FUT What if?
What exactly FUT What If will be about is still unclear at the moment. After all, it ‘s a brand new promo event making its debut in FIFA 21 .
If you take a closer look at the map design, you can see two arrows in the top center . That suggested it was some kind of live maps . However, since the arrows are either black or white, the FUT What If concept is somewhat reminiscent of the FUT Showdown SBCs depicting the same arrows.
So unlike the RTTF event or the FUT Headliners , we could expect live maps that get a one-time upgrade upon reaching a specific objective .
According to leaker Jack Lang , who has been correct on a number of occasions in the past, these are live maps designed to work similarly to the headliners . However, the upgrades are not linked to victories , but to certain requirements for the teams.
For example, when a team scores a certain number of goals or stays without conceding a goal for several games . However, it is still unclear how high the upgrades will be and which goals must be completed.
FIFA 21 What If promo: which players are included?
It is currently still unclear which players will await us at FUT 21 What If .
However, we assume that at least one player from Borussia Dortmund will be there , because the BVB players were conspicuous by their absence despite the derby win in TOTW 22 – which points to a new card in the upcoming promo. Maybe What If Jadon Sancho ?
Of course, the absolute highlight would be a What If card from Neymar (PSG), who surprisingly didn’t win Ligue 1 Player of the Month. Until we know which players are waiting for us at the new event, we have to wait until Friday evening.
FIFA 22 – FUTs
What could be cooler than just relaxed gaming and doing some sofa sports on the side? In FIFA 22, the player is on the move fast, but without getting sore muscles. With the Ultimate Team Event cards, the collecting instinct is now also satisfied. However, the FUT Heroes keep creeping into my mind, so here are the best Ultimate Team Event cards that are definitely worth adding to your collection.
Heroes cards selected by EA for top qualities
Admittedly, the FUT heroes will cost quite a bit of coin, but it turns out that EA has once again brought some top-class players into the game when it comes to selection. As a collector and hunter, it’s an added attraction for FIFA gamers to now include their own favorite heroes in the portfolio and benefit from their individual skills. Both in the game and in team building, the FUTs will revolutionize the game once again.
EA SPORTS FC: FIFA GAME SERIES TO BE CONTINUED UNDER NEW NAME
Of course, the soccer simulation game series will not be discontinued completely. After FIFA 23, EA will relaunch the game under the name EA Sports FC and market it independently. Old FIFA hares should now become quite an ear, after all, the EA Sports Football Club used to be a part of the actual game for years. A lot of playing was rewarded, points could be collected and items, boosts or balls for the individual game modes could be unlocked.
In this context, there could also be a complete revolution of the classic game. There is a heated discussion in the FIFA community about whether the game, which is expected to be released in the fall of 2023, will be free-to-play. This option is said to be on the table for the game makers from EA, because: It seems that EA earns most of its money with the purchases of FIFA Points in the game mode Ultimate Team and not with the sale of the game itself.
