The FIFA 20 Shapeshifters promo has come to an end. The latest FUT mode special event features some top notch cards. We reveal what the Shapeshifters are and which players are particularly worthwhile.

In late February, EA Sports launched a brand new event in FIFA 20’s FUT mode that hadn’t existed in previous years: the Shapeshifters . Last Friday, the current promo came to an end, giving us some high quality cards in two teams. But what are the FIFA 20 Shapeshifters and which cards are particularly worthwhile?

FIFA 20 Shapeshifters: That’s behind the special cards

The German translation of the name, “Gestaltwandler”, already reveals what’s behind the new cards. Behind the Shapeshifters hide players whose position has changed compared to the standard map – in a way that is not possible with the known position modifiers.

FUT players know that, for example, a forward can be transformed into a central midfielder using the modifiers. But not, for example, to a winger (LF and RF) or full-back (LV and RV).

But that’s exactly what the Shapeshifters allow, which enables some interesting new constellations and allows the construction of completely new teams. In addition, the total of 32 changed players received a huge boost in their stats, while the strong foot was changed and the weak foot and skill ratings or work rates were also adjusted.

The 10 strongest Shapeshifters cards by their overall rating

The 32 players who could look forward to a new special card as part of the promotion are spread across the five top leagues in Europe . The first team was led by Argentinian Lionel Messi , who received an MS card with an overall rating of 96.

Instead of a medium/low working rate, the FC Bacelona star now offers a high/low working rate, which ensures that the nimble dribbler turns much more into the offensive.

The Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo , on the other hand, switches from the storm center to the right wing. His workrates have also been adjusted, but the change in his strong foot is much more interesting.

The green Shapeshifters card has been converted to left footed . This allows him to pull in from the wing and seek finish with his strong foot.
