At the weekend there will finally be the finest football again, but virtual in times of the corona crisis. The “Bundesliga Home Challenge” eFootball tournament organized by the DFL is entering its second round.

FIFA esports and real esports came to a standstill due to Corona , but fans can expect a real bang this weekend. After a successful start last weekend, the Bundesliga Home Challenge is entering its second round. The field of participants was even expanded by three teams from the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga. The 30th team even has a referee duo.

The first round of the eFootball tournament organized by the DFL took place on March 28th and 29th. 26 clubs from the first and second German division competed in FIFA 20. Each team enters two participants, at least one of whom must be from the club’s squad of licensed players.

Among the participants were Nico Schlotterbeck from SC Freiburg, who recently proved his skills on the controller in the eFriendly against Spain , as well as Achraf Hakimi from Borussia Dortmund and Sonny Kittel from Hamburger SV.

FIFA 20 is played on the PS4 in the so-called 85 mode , which is also used in our home game cup . In this mode, all teams are equal and have a skill level of 85.

Bundesliga Home Challenge Week 2

For the second week of the game, the squad will be expanded by three Bundesliga clubs. Newcomers are Borussia Mönchengladbach, VfL Bochum and VfL Wolfsburg. But since the whole thing doesn’t work out with 29 teams, a team of referees appears as the 30th team .

The two Bundesliga referees Deniz Aytekin and Daniel Schlager hold up the flag for the referees. In addition to some Bundesliga professionals, there are of course also a number of esports players from the FIFA scene at the start.
