Falling numbers for the first time! Server populations in Nov. 2021

The second phase of WoW: launched about two months ago, and we’re taking the opportunity to look at server populations in November 2021. How have the last few months affected the end-game stats of Outland?

Phase 2 of WoW: Burning Crusade Classic is now almost two months old and, as we all know, had new raid challenges for level 70 players in it, which have been played up and down by many guilds since then. We now want to find out if the last few weeks have had an impact on the endgame statistics: How many players showed up in the raid logs in the first November ID? How does it compare to our last flying visit in September? Have the player numbers changed?

For our new check, we visited Ironforge.pro again. There, we record all characters that have appeared in a log for a TBC endgame content in a certain period of time. So we see how many characters participate in the PvE endgame on the different servers (we don’t include the characters that were additionally recorded in the arena for reasons of comparability). The most recent numbers are from the first November ID from November 03, 2021 to November 10, 2021.

  • The US server Benediction is no longer the largest (TBC) Classic server! Counted there “only” 21,277 characters (in September: 18,763 characters). The EU server Firemaw meanwhile has 21,890 characters (in September Gehennas was the EU leader with 16,087 characters (now 18,352)).
  • The biggest German server is still Venoxis, with 8,324 characters (8,597 – 63.5 percent Horde).
  • The former largest DE server Everlook comes to 7,796 characters (7,740 – with a faction distribution of 72.2 percent Alliance).
  • The formerly very busy server Lucifron continues to lose slightly and currently comes to 2,818 (instead of 2,993) counted characters (at 99.2 percent Horde)
  • On Razorfen, 5,507 (instead of 5,452) active characters (at 50.7 percent Alliance) were counted.
  • Dragon’s Call has 3,149 (instead of 3,305) active characters (at 68.2 percent Horde).
  • Lakeshire comes to 4,099 (instead of 3,625) active characters (at 64.7 percent Alliance)
  • Patchwerk comes to 3,599 (instead of 3,976) active characters (at 70.7 percent Horde)
  • Transcendence comes to 3,620 (instead of 3,930) active characters (63.7 percent Horde)
  • Heartstriker comes to 1,988 (instead of 2,316) active characters (at 100 percent Alliance)
  • For Celebras there is again a small increase: 442 (instead of 437) characters were counted there on Warcraftlogs, 69 of them on Horde side.
  • In total, 352,712 raid-active characters were counted across the US, EU and Russia regions (in September: 378,477).

WoW: Dragonflight: The Coast of Awakening – official preview

In an official preview, the WoW developers have now presented the first area of Dragonflight in more detail.

While some servers continue to see notable growth (especially in US and EU English), the bottom line is that the total number of characters is dropping for the first time since the launch of TBC Classic. What is the situation in your immediate environment? Is your guild still very active? Have any players left recently? Should phase 3 start soon or do you think it still has time?
