The Brazilian Militia is an enemy faction in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 . They live in Rio de Janeiro,
where they come into conflict with Task Force 141. They also appear as a playable faction in multiplayer. Her symbol is the bloody imprint of a left hand. Rather than a true and official militia, it is more of a petty criminal gang, but very well armed and equipped, including a motley mix of civilian arms and military assets.
Unlike ordinary gangs, the militia is extremely well-armed and has a membership well in excess of 100. Apparently, every criminal in Rio has joined. While not the most skillful of soldiers, the militia poses a big problem for Task Force 141 because they can make up for it with equipment and superior numbers. Alejandro Rojas, who mainly supplies the militia with arms, seems to have an agreement with them as they protect him when the task force hunts down the arms dealer, but maybe they just thought the Americans had come to their country to kill her.
Some people mistakenly think that the Brazilian militia has contacts with Vladimir Makarov and his Russian ultra-nationalists, but this is not possible. Her only connection to him is through Alejandro Rojas, who supplied Makarov with the weapons used in the terrorist attack in Russia. They use weapons made locally in Brazil and Russian equipment like the AK-47. They also keep attack dogs. In battle, they sometimes have clever moments and skillfully try to flank the player. However, they are not a threat to easier difficulties, as they fire blindly and run into the open hail of bullets, only to die in the process.
The Brazilian militia can already be compared to the African militia in many ways. Both of them helped Makarov to do bad things. While Alejandro Rojas got him weapons for an attack, the Africans helped ship chemical weapons to Europe. Both factions only appear in two missions in the campaign, and both faction leaders can be killed.

Info
- There are some translation errors in multiplayer. Throwing a flashbang will cause the character to scream ” Apareceu de repente!” ( Eng . Appeared out of nowhere ) or “atirando uma granada de mao!” ( Eng. throw a hand grenade ). If you then throw a hand grenade, he calls out “atirando uma granada de luz!” ( Eng. Throw a stun grenade ).
- When the character places a claymore, he says “golpeando com espada” (Eng . Strike with a sword ). The translator probably confused the claymore with the Scottish claymore sword.
- When you reload, the character calls out “trocando de arma” (Eng . Change your weapon ).
- Sometimes the soldiers of the militia can be heard shouting in Portuguese “a policia deve ter contratado matadores gringos para seu Trabalho sujo” (Eng . The police must have hired foreigners to do the dirty work ), implying that they believe that the Task Force 141 is in the country to take out the militia.
- Some of their equipment on the character model, such as hats, glasses, etc., they share with the OpFor soldiers.
- The Brazilian Militia is the only faction in Modern Warfare 2 that does not have a stealth suit.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
