eSportsNews: “Never Split People So Much”

” Stemmler is very successful on and , but causes discussions every now and then. There was real trouble in connection with the soccer match Hamburger SV against Hertha BSC – because in the run-up to the game Trymacs drew the ire of some fans with a ticket call.

Who is it about? Trymacs is one of the most successful Twitch streamers around. The 27-year-old is into everything from Clash of Clans to GTA online RP to opening Pokémon card packs.

Trymacs finds many fans with his easy-going manner, but also has his critics – for example, because he put an extreme amount of money into packs. Trymacs is also in demand when it comes to events. For example, he boxed against his fellow streamer MckyTV, which brought a lot of viewers, but also an injured wrist. In addition, he plans to assemble his own soccer team in the summer. However, some fans didn’t want to see him at another : the relegation match to the Bundesliga between Hamburger SV and Hertha BSC.

Ticket Appeal Brings Trouble – Big Discussion About Stadium Attendance

What was the problem? In the run-up to the second leg of the Hamburger SV vs Hertha BSC match, Trymacs made a call that he wanted to buy tickets for the game – and offered 400 euros each. In addition, he wanted to make a VLOG from the stadium.

However, this did not meet with the approval of some fans: In the social media, there was sometimes severe criticism for the call by soccer fans. Offering so much money for tickets would fuel the black market and deprive real fans of the chance to get into the stadium. In any case, Trymacs is out of place as a content creator who is not really there for the game, but only for the video.

Why was this game so important? The game was about promotion to the Bundesliga for HSV, while Hertha BSC wanted to avoid relegation to the 2nd – so it was a damn important game. As a fan, it’s one of those games you’ll be talking about for years to come.

But the demand for tickets is correspondingly high – and it quickly happens that tickets are offered at lunar prices. An apt comparison is perhaps the problem with the PS5 scalpers, who secure a lot of consoles to make a profit, while “normal” consumers look down the tube. The potential of such a situation is also comparable in soccer, especially during such important games – if not even somewhat stronger, because many soccer fans are extremely emotionally connected to their club. Moreover, some also distinguish between “real fans” and “event visitors” – i.e. people who are there with heart and soul, and people who only come to the stadium as a means to an end.

How Trymacs Reacted: Trymacs spoke out on the issue in two videos on YouTube – in both he talks about a “shitstorm” from HSV fans.

Many fans are “really pissed off,” he says, and also shows tweets in which, for example, the hashtag “Against influencers in the stadium” is used. There, people talk about Trymacs not being wanted in the stadium, which sometimes leads to very heated discussions. Trymacs himself comments that he used to go to HSV summer camps, had a – Season ticket and followed HSV’s promotion campaign: “And now I’m banned from the stadium because I’m a YouTuber,” Trymacs says (via YouTube).

He compares this to other topics where he has experienced similar things. The first time Minecraft, he says, Minecraft fans were pissed off, with GTA-RP some GTA fans were pissed off, and boxing, from some people’s point of view, he shouldn’t play either: “I want to play FIFA for the first time, I get FIFA banned because someone has been playing FIFA since 2004. In every game it’s the same.” He simply didn’t expect similar anger in soccer, he said. He likes to trigger people sometimes, but this time he didn’t want to do it at all.

This is how spectators react: In the YouTube comments there are opinions from both sides. Some think it’s good that Trymacs wants to go to the stadium – and also support the VLOG. At least you can experience the atmosphere when you’re not there yourself. There are also HSV fans who say that they can’t share the hatred, especially since he also had contact with HSV.

“Moin Max, am HSV fan and was also in Berlin there, for our home game I unfortunately got no tickets, happened, the stadium we would have now times 4 full. I understand both sides and everyone should first try to understand, of course it has an added value when Max comes to the stadium and makes a vlog, but is cool content. I think it’s about the Ultras that we want to try to create the coolest atmosphere in the stadium as possible. And the likelihood that you’ll be shouting loudly at every fan chant is much lower than with other fans. So simple I think it is, as I said, did not get a ticket but wish you of course still have fun in the Volkspark.

Others think that influencers should not be there if they have nothing to do with the club, because there are many fans who simply feel more. Just that you go to such a “final”, but not before, does not come off well.

This is how the whole thing turned out

In the end, Trymacs still ended up playing regardless of the criticism, which he recorded in the VLOG as announced: Together with MckyTV and his brother, Trymacs was at Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion to watch the game live on site and bring a bit of fan atmosphere with him.

Right at the beginning of the video, however, he goes back to the controversy:

People have been discussing quite heatedly, you can see that here too. I’ve never seen people so divided. An insane number of people come, they’re happy that I’m doing a VLOG, they want photos with me. Ultra cool. The others shout “son of a bitch” all the time and throw trash. That’s definitely the contrast.

How did that go with the tickets? In the video Trymacs explains that in the end he didn’t buy tickets after all – instead he now got them through a contact, which is why Micky would also be there. “Was fail that I said I want to buy expensive tickets,” he still addresses.

In the video, Trymacs can then be seen wandering through the stadium, interacting with fans, destroying a beer can or two, and ultimately standing in the corner. During the game, the streamer remains convinced for a long time that HSV would still manage to get promoted to the Bundesliga despite being behind. In the end, however, this was not to happen – Hertha BSC won the game and kept the class.

In terms of gaming, soccer pops up every now and then – through FIFA, but also in other places: For example, a soccer coach played so much Football Manager that it helped his career. The cover image is from Trymacs’ React video on YouTube.
