Earning Gold in WoW Classic: From Poor Lump to Rich Knight

If there is a lack of one thing in Classic-WoW, it is disposable income – but do not despair! We tell you the best sources of gold income. For example, there are recommended classes, races and of course trades.

After a long dry spell, log into the Classic servers for the first time and take a look around. Everything is gloriously angular and ancient, no one rides horses and flying stations are so rare that an encounter with a riding griffin is like sighting the Loch Ness Monster. After a while you’ve settled in, and you’ve jotted down a few sober facts: First, you’ve already died three times with your warrior in Northshire, so you’ll need to choose your fights wisely. Second, your bag space is so limited that you’ll have to jog to a vendor every ten minutes or give up loot. The third and last point is the most important and affects the other two directly: Everything is extremely expensive and you only have a few tired copper pieces. you want to get stronger so you can take down more than one opponent at the same time? Have fun running, because if you buy equipment in the auction house, you are guaranteed not to own a horse at level forty. Want to increase your bag space? Have fun dying, because if you buy bags, you won’t have any money left for armor. The same goes for flying griffon shortcuts, leveling up professions, repairing your gear, acquiring your skills, and buying reagents. Because we remember that, for example, magicians and villains in Classic still need runes and blinding powder to use certain skills. because whoever buys bags has no money left for armor. So where Blizzard has to construct a murderous amount of gold sinks on the live servers so that galloping inflation doesn’t take hold, money rules in Classic-WoW (buy now) the world. If you can’t manage your gold, you will have a very, very difficult time in old Azeroth. Of course, it’s good that we’re here to help and show you the best ways to work your way up from scoundrel to knight. We begin our with earning opportunities, most of which can also be used by occasional players and tend to run alongside normal game operations. So if you don’t want to invest a lot of time and effort in your gold farm, you’ve come to the right place. After that, we cover more elaborate methods aimed at the patient readers. At this point, you begin to devote a significant portion of your online time solely to establishing a solid side income.

Steady drops fill the stock market in
As a hero of the world, you naturally want to get started as soon as you log in and become raid-capable as quickly as possible. Instead of a life as a radiant hero, however, you first have to go to the local job center: As soon as you leave your starting area and have reached your capital, you look for two gathering professions and get started. Anyone who diligently collects reagents and crafting materials from the beginning of their Classic career and sells them in the auction house can later devote themselves to a life as a heavily armored warrior without tearing their hair out because their own equipment lags behind the current content. We recommend the two professions herbalism and skinning. There are two reasons for this: skinning always runs alongside normal gameplay and gives you a constant flow of skins, which you can easily get rid of in the auction house. Of course, other skinners won’t bid for hides, but Blacksmiths and Engineers also need a large amount of leather at a certain point to further increase their professions. And since, especially at the beginning of Classic-WoW, the crowd of second and third characters will be rather small, you provide your teammates with practical and cheap leather materials. As a second profession, you choose herbalism, since the collected reagents are always in great demand from level one to sixty: If you are still in the level phase, then alchemists will buy your picked flowers often and gladly, while you are at the maximum level you can earn a fortune with the ingredients for various flasks and potions. Who wants to raid

Why no mining? Simply because you get rid of the vegetables picked with Herbology more easily. At first, the ore business will almost certainly bring in more money than herbalism, but once you hit level sixty your herbs will always find a buyer, while ores tend to sit on the auction house a bit longer. Enchanting can also bring you good money through the dusts produced, but the items destroyed in the process are not a source of income. It can work in combination with Tailoring, but again, you could just as easily sell the fabrics you’ve collected on the Auction House. And, by Thrall’s green bells, we’re going to take every damned piece of copper we can lay our hands on!

Can it be a little more work in WoW?
If you want to invest more time, delve deeper into the auction house and invest a certain amount of your game time in regular trading visits with an auctioneer of your choice. But everything in good time, because from level forty you are faced with a fundamental decision: Do you want to try to earn gold with a manufacturing profession, or do you prefer to play it safe? We strongly recommend that you do not take any risks, especially since increasing professions in Classic WoW is not exactly quick and you have already invested a lot in your gathering professions. Even so, level forty is the best stop to make the switch because at this point in your heroic life you’ve accumulated a cash cushion and are pretty good at ramping up your crafting profession. If you want to pursue such a profession, you choose blacksmithing, because engineering does not give you enough general useful items. Newly minted blacksmiths scour the auction house for cheap materials and attempt to sell the items they craft for a profit – however, the full potential of this method of earning unfolds only after around level fifty. At this point, you should scour the auction house for plans that will help you make some real money. We recommend that you pick three plans for rare plate armor and try to produce them cheaply – collect your own ore and browse the auction house for cheap offers. For example, selling Arcanite Reapers is an absolutely great way to earn gold. This ax is a mouth-watering ax for any warrior, shaman, or paladin, and is one of the steps into the Classic Premier . Head to Blackrock Spire and loot the plans of Bannok Grimmaxt. You may have to invest a lot of time here to get the coveted plans, but just being able to build this ax is a solid source of income! Just write “sell Arcanite Reapers, your materials, twenty gold” in the trade chat and you’ll earn a big fist of shiny gold coins just for the hours you put in. Enchant, enchant!
Let’s get to the art of enchantment, which can also become a good side income with a little more time – and all without your main character investing in a job. If you haven’t planned it anyway, you create a so-called bank character. In Classic-WoW, the little guys are there to protect your bank compartment and serve as a mobile warehouse. Conveniently, the boys and girls can also let off steam in the auction house, which of course we shamelessly exploit. So play your bank character at level five, learn the art of enchanting with him and send the little one a few gold coins as starting capital. Now go to the auction house and look for low-level, green items that you can disenchant – these will usually be the various beginner items. Buy the cheapest items and turn them into strange dust. Look roughly for items up to level twelve that you buy for a maximum of fifteen silver and items up to level twenty that you pay a maximum of thirty silver for. The trick is this: you get up to three dust piles for level twelve items and up to six dust piles for items up to level twenty. The strange dust is often priced at ten silver or more per dose. Put your spoils in the auction house for a reasonable price and wait for the gold coins to roll into your pocket. Caution: This trick does not work at all times of the day and night. Once you’ve had some fun here, you usually have to wait a week for the price of Strange Dust to settle down somewhat. Anyone who loves to play auction house games but doesn’t feel like doing honest work joins the animal smugglers. That sounds terrible at first, but of course it’s harmless, because we only sell the exclusive pets of one faction to the other. As an alliance, you get the following pets: Four colored cats are available from Donni Nathania in Elwynn Forest at coordinates 44/53, while little Timmy sells a white cat in Stormwind – the boy wanders around in the canal district of the capital. The snow hare is available from Yarlyn Bernruh in Dun Morogh at 70/49, while you can get two types of owls from Shylenai in Darnassus, who roams at coordinates 64/54. Horde players, on the other hand, can purchase three types of snakes from Xan’tish in Orgrimmar, who roam the Valley of Honor. A prairie dog can be found at Halpa in Thunder Bluff at coordinates 63/58, while you can purchase a cockroach in Undercity from Jeremiah Payson at 67/47. Now go to one of the neutral auction houses in Gadgetzan, Booty Bay or Winterspring and place your animals in them for a steep price. Be greedy when it comes to pricing, because the goblins will charge you more for every sale made here than the auctioneers in the Horde and Alliance capitals.

Anyone who invests time earns well in Classic
Now let’s move on to the methods that require quite a large investment of your time. With the gold farms presented below you can no longer earn money on the side, but for this evening you only plan to increase your wealth. You may have to use a specific class for this or even level a second character especially for this purpose – as I said, from here on we play in such a way that we keep an eye on the big picture and no longer concern ourselves with short-term successes. However, your auction house machinery should continue to run diligently in the background.

Dwarven Greed
First, we’ll tell you how to set up the infamous “dwarf farm”. We don’t let a bunch of burly little guys toil day and night on a farm, we graze dungeons for treasures without ever coming into serious contact with the enemies there. To start your career as a gold farmer, you first create a dwarf villain and specialize in deception. The reason for this is that the deception villain gains significant advantages when sneaking and can hardly be detected by NPCs because of his stealth. In addition, Stealth Rogues gain a bonus to their Blind ability and can prepare to reset the cooldown of all abilities. Perfect.

You choose a dwarf because they gain the ability to find treasure. This skill allows you to see all nearby treasures on the minimap. Pick a dungeon with mostly humanoid enemies, such as Scarlet Monastery, Blackrock Depths, or (when it appears) Dire Maul. Here we go! Ignites treasure finding and stealth. Steals everything that isn’t nailed down! If opponents are in front of the treasure chests, you turn them off with a headbutt and blinds. If things get tricky, use your disappearance and then prepare. By the way: You have chosen a dungeon with humanoid enemies because you also pickpocket all the enemies concerned. After that, exit the instance, reset everything, and repeat your raid until you have a bunch of stuff

The zealous hunter
The second big (and extremely rewarding) gold farm will be coming to the servers later – but if you want to start using it from then on, it’s very important to start preparing now. We’re talking, of course, about the Dire Maul North farm trip, which is undertaken with a well-equipped maxed Hunter and your maxed Engineering profession. Create a bunch of goblin land mines and large seaforium charges beforehand. After that, enter the dungeon and use your Freezing Trap to knock out the first ogre for a moment. In the next round, wait for the Ogre Mage and his hyenas to run past you, use Feign Death briefly and run up the ramp when the Mage is out of aggro range. Grab the key in the pillared box in the courtyard. Sprint to the big door and get ready to kill one of Kilrogg’s Eyes – you need to do this very quickly! This will be your first three-pull, but don’t panic: the melee ogre taps into your Freezing Trap, the charging demon you clip to slow, and the witcher… Well, the witcher isn’t easy to shake off, so try as you escape putting obstacles between you and the ogre down the corridor.

Around the next bend, run into the following group of three, using your Scatter Shot as close as possible. As you run past, you also clip this demon, leaving the entire group behind you. When you’re sure you’re reasonably out of range, use Feign Dead and keep running. Heal yourself and your companion, set a land mine and a booby trap in front of you and send your animal in the direction of the bugs. When all the insects start beating your pet, make it freeze for a second so all the enemies are in a clump, then drag your pet over the traps. Continue working your way up using the trap scatter shot method until you come to a closed door. This is where the second pet pull occurs as you set up your Freezing Trap, pull the ogre into the trap, and open the door behind him with a large Zephyrium charge. With diligent use of Concussive Shot, Scatter Shot, and Freezing Trap, you’ll keep fighting your way. In the large courtyard, use Find Wildlife to see the hounds on the map, run past Krombruch and play dead. Work your way up the ramp by kiting and killing the hyenas before attacking King Gordok. Destroy the totems of Cho’Rush in battle with the king to stay well out of reach of the angry ogres. Put the pillars between you and Cho’Rush and never let Gordok get near you.

Dream of fame and fortune in WoW Classic
We have only given a few examples, because the advantage of Classic-WoW is its great flexibility: In contrast to modern Azeroth, there is still freedom of action here, which can sometimes be a little intimidating. The big advantage of the Wild WoW West, however, is that you have an almost murderous range of earning opportunities.

What is WoW Classic?
