Another license for FIFA are lost to the publisher EA Sports. The current debate is about the trademark rights of Maradona.
EA Sports currently has big problems with their soccer simulation. After they had already lost licenses in the past years, they probably won’t even be able to keep the name FIFA in the future. But the next license dispute is not long in coming. The new chapter is called: Diego Maradona.
UPDATE: 03/21/2022 – EA Sports should now actually remove Maradona
According to scene leaker Fut Sheriff it is now actually to happen. Diego Maradona should be removed from FIFA 22 because of licensing reasons.
