EA confirms the end of the FIFA series

There have been rumors for quite some time that EA Sports and will part ways. Now these rumors have come true, which means that we have to say goodbye to one of the most popular game series of all time. What are we going to gamble now? eFootball, or rather Madden?

The talks between FIFA and EA ran for half an eternity, again and again new rumors came up, but now it is officially confirmed: FIFA is history – at least the game series. All the money you spent on Ultimate Team, all the tears and sweat that was shed… what remains is the memory.

Maybe there’s still a silver lining. EA Sports has announced that they will continue to develop soccer games, but under a new name. What else is going to change. Let’s take a look at that now.

Officially confirmed: FIFA and EA are going their separate ways
May 10, 2022 will never be forgotten by FIFA fans. On that day, the unthinkable became a reality, their favorite game will never be the same again.

Well, enough dramatic formulations! Let’s summarize what information we could actually gather about the breakup of EA and FIFA. Before you grab your torch and pitchfork and march off to EA Sports headquarters, let us tell you: the blame does not lie solely with the developer and publisher of this popular series. The license fees that FIFA demands are now exorbitantly overpriced.

According to some leakers, FIFA was planning to trade the naming rights of the brand for double the price, and EA Sports didn’t want to accept such an offer. The company decided to abandon the FIFA brand for their soccer game.

This game series, despite the criticism in recent years, is still an absolute cult and integral part of the sport. Over 150 million players kick on the virtual pitches and on this basis EA Sports decided to relaunch under the name EA Sports FC.

When will the game get the new name?

will be released in October or November this year as usual. The current agreement between FIFA and is valid until the Women’s World Cup in the summer of 2023.

I guess that means you should get FIFA 23, as this will be the last installment in the series that still bears the name of the world soccer organization. If you leave it in the foil and treat it well for a couple of decades, you can certainly make a chunk of money from it at some point….

What will change about the game with EA Sports FC?

Cam Weber, the Executive Vice President of EA Sports & Racing explains that EA Sports FC will continue to include everything that fans have loved about the FIFA series.

Everything you love about our games will be part of EA SPORTS FC – the same great experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, clubs and athletes will be there. Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football will all be there.

However, without FIFA in the name, these new freedoms could also open up opportunities for developers to evolve the game with new features. So EA Sports has a chance to improve EA Sports FC and take the new game series to a new level.

Even though FIFA and EA Sports will go separate ways, it doesn’t mean the end for your favorite game series. Only the name may be a bit unfamiliar. But it also rolls off the tongue relatively easily, doesn’t it? EA Sports FC… EA Sports FC.

FIFA 23 RELEASE – WHAT IS KNOWN SO FAR

FIFA 22 is still in full operation, but in the background the game makers of EA Sports are already working on the next part – FIFA 23 will be released in autumn 2022.
But under which name will the classic game be continued in autumn 2022? As things stand, it is not at all certain that the game will continue to bear the name of the world association FIFA. We have the most important information about FIFA 23 for you, why the game series will get a new name and on which consoles the next part of the soccer simulation will be available.

WHEN WILL FIFA 23 BE RELEASED?

We can’t give you an launch date for the next part of the FIFA game series yet. EA hasn’t communicated much in this regard yet, so so far we can only assume that FIFA 23 will be released in the period between mid-September and early October 2022, just like its predecessors. In the past years, the latest launch date of a FIFA game was October 06.
