Driver Rankings Published: All the Details

Codemasters and Electronic Arts have announced another innovation for “F1 22”. Thus, the racing game will use driver ratings that are regularly updated based on a new algorithm and should reflect the current form of a driver better than in the past.

The starting day ratings will be compiled up to and including this year’s Grand Prix de Monaco. The dynamic ratings are used in addition to an overall rating in several categories:

  • Experience (EXP): This is based on the number of race starts a driver has completed during his career.
  • Racing Aptitude (RAC): The ability of the driver to work his way through the field and finish the race in a position higher than the starting position.
  • Awareness (AWA): The less time drivers spend in the Steward’s Room, the better. Real world penalties affect the score in this category.
  • Speed (PAC): Favors those who come closest to the fastest qualifying and race lap times. A driver who beats his teammate is also taken into account.
  • Rating (RTG): The combination of the previous four scores. This overall rating rises and falls throughout the – Season depending on performance.

“Our dynamic driver , now a staple of other titles, continue to stir drivers’ emotions and it’s great to see the camaraderie and banter between teammates,” said Paul Jeal, F1 senior franchise director at Codemasters. Codemasters says driver rankings are a key element of My Team. The new – Season will offer three starting positions, including Newcomer, Midway Challenger and Championship Contender. Based on this, players can decide whether they want to work their way up from the bottom or fight directly for victory.
