Team Information :
Fighting Pandas is an American team that played in the competitive Dota 2 scene. Later, the team was signed by the Croatian esports organization CR4ZY.
First impression
The match against the Pandas, as with most of these teams, seemed chaotic. The team consisted of players who were discarded in one way or another or from other teams. The team’s first roster was announced by EternaLEnVy via his Twitter in August 2019. Besides the already iconic Canadian, the squad includes: bryle, Sneyking, Aui_2000 and MoonMeander.
On paper, the squad looked promising and some of the results could be described as not so disastrous.
Results of the fight against Pandas and transition to CR4ZY
The first tournament Fighting Pandas participated in was Midas Mode 2 – America. There the team appeared under the name Fighting Pepegas, in reference to the famous Internet meme. During the tournament, the team finished in 3rd place, but the main reason was that there were a total of 4 teams in the championship.
Fighting Pandas also showed a series of good performances. They won the American qualifiers for ESL One Hamburg 2019 and the qualifiers for MDL Chengdu Major. However, their performances at the Champions themselves were not very successful.
At ELS One Hamburg, the EnVy team finished 9th-10th, but after that they managed to win a ticket to the World Electronic Sports Games by winning the Canadian qualifying tournament.
In November 2019, the Fighting Pandas competed in the first and only major tournament. It was the MDL Chengdu Major. Although the team finished 9th to 12th there, it can still be considered a decent result for a team that “took a knee”.
Later, EnVy and company tried to compete in DreamLeague – Season 13 and WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020, finishing 3rd in the qualification for the first championship and second in the qualification for the Bukovel Minor. Nevertheless, this was enough to get to Bukovel.
At the end of 2019, the Fighting Pandas won their first tournament. It was the World Electronic Sports Games 2019 North America Finals.
The time before CR4ZY.
2020 began with an appearance on WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020, where the Fighting Pandas failed to advance past the group stage and were eliminated from the championship with a score of 5-6. After the performance in Bukovel the team was left by its inventor EternaLEnVy as well as Sneyking. They were replaced by Skiter and Khezu. With the updated squad, Fighting Pandas participated in ESL One Los Angeles 2020 North America Qualifiers, where they finished 4th, and later in StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor – Season 3, where they finished 2nd.
After that, the team was signed by the Croatian organization CR4ZY.
CR4ZY and the farewell to the professional scene
In the CR4ZY camp, the former Fighting Pandas roster began to participate in all kinds of online championships.
From October 2020, the team was a regular guest at local American tournaments.
They placed 4th in BTS Pro Series: Americas, won OMG Cup 3, placed 2nd in ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: Americas, finished 4th in BTS Pro Series – Season 2: Americas and OGA Dota PIT S2: Americas.
In August, the team finished 2nd in The Great American Rivalry – Season 1 Division 1 and 5th in ESL One Thailand 2020: Americas.
The last tournament in the short history of the Dota 2 division of the CR4ZY organization was BTS Pro Series – Season 3: Americas. There the team finished in 2nd place.
Organization and awards
CR4ZY’s Dota 2 division has been in existence for less than a year and has already earned the organization over $82,000 in prize money. Acer was the title sponsor of the band.
Dota 2
Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena title from Valve. The successor to the extremely popular Warcraft 3 modification DotA (Defense of the Ancients), Dota 2 was the company’s first strategy game and was released on the download platform Steam on July 9, 2013. The game is a free-to-play title that can be played completely free of charge and is financed through in-game microtransactions, similar to Team Fortress 2.
Dota 2 is – unlike other big MOBA titles like League of Legends – free to play with all heroes. However, game items can be purchased in the Dota 2 store, but all of them have no effect on the gameplay. Only cosmetic items like different skins for the heroes can be purchased. Just like in Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Portal 2, it is possible to create your own content via the Steam Workshop.
