First impression
Chaos Esports Club first appeared in the open spaces of competitive Dota 2 in August 2015. The organization’s debut included:
- TC
- Yawar
- BuLba
- Aui_2000 _
- Biryu
The first test for the newly minted team was its performance in the qualifiers for the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships and ESL One New York. In the qualification, the team took 2nd and 3rd place. However, in the first case, this was enough to get to the main tournament, and third place in the qualifier for ESL One New York was not enough.
Later there was 2nd place in Elimination Mode, 2nd place in qualifier for the MLG World Finals and 3rd place in qualifier for the Frankfurt Major 2015.
In October 2015, Chaos Esports Club took 7th-8th place in Nanyang Dota 2 Championship. The team recovered after an unsuccessful performance during The Summit 4 qualifiers. The team took first place there.
After success in the qualifiers for The Summit 4, Chaos Esports Club changed the roster: Biryu was replaced by 1437, who also took on the role of captain.
With the new roster, the team finished 7th-8th at Summit 4 and 13th-16th at World Cyber Arena 2015.
2016 and the rise of Chaos Esports Club
The new year of Chaos Esports Club started with qualifying for major tournaments. First, the team took 3rd place in qualifying for The Shanghai Major 2016, after that they finished in the second tier of qualifying for – Season 4 of Dota Pit League.
In the same month, Chaos Esports Club took 4th place in Dota 2 Canada Cup – – Season 6.
In February, the team begins a gradual replacement of the composition. First, TC is replaced by Resolut1on.
With the Ukrainian player, the team wins at BTS Americas – No. 3 , finishing 3-4 in qualifiers for ESL One Manila Americas. th place and placed 5-6 in the qualifier for EPICENTER. Place.
In March 2016, Chaos Esports Club is conducting a global roster reorganization: A new roster will be assembled around Resolut1on.
The new Chaos Esports Club includes: Resolut1on, w33, Moo, Saksa, Misery. The team started training hard.
The first championship for the renewed squad was a performance in the qualifiers for ESL One Frankfurt 2016. There the team finished 3-4. Place, after which the team waited for a series of successful performances.
As of May 2016, Chaos Esports Club has won four major qualifiers: the Manila Major, the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships – Season 2, the Summit 5, and the StarLadder i-League StarSeries – Season 2.
In June, the team takes part in the club’s first major tournament. There, the team takes 9th to 12th place.
While the performance in the Major can hardly be called a success, what was far more important was the performance in the TI 2016 qualifiers, where Chaos Esports Club took 2nd place and entered the main tournament of the year.
Prior to The International itself, the team ran a series of tournaments where they finished 5th-6th. Among them were Nanyang Dota 2 Championship – Season 2, The Summit 5 and StarLadder i-League StarSeries – Season 2.
In August 2016, Chaos Esports Club played at The International 2016. To everyone’s surprise, the team managed to reach the grand finals, where they lost to Wings Gaming.
The disappointing defeat in the TI finals led to line-up changes. Moo left the band and MoonMeander took his place.
By the end of the year, Chaos Esports Club had placed 4th in Elimination Mode 2.0, 3rd-4th in the 2016 Boston Major and 3rd-4th in the 2016 China Top.
2017-2018 – Season and the beginning of the end
In January 2017, Chaos Esports Club took first place at ESL One Genting 2017. It seems the team is in great shape and second place at TI 2016 only tempered it. However, the positive results turn into not very successful performances: the team takes 7th-8th place in the 5th – Season of the Dota Pit League, 7th-8th place in the StarLadder i-League StarSeries in the 3rd – Season . and – Season s 9 through 16.
A number of errors lead to the complete dissolution of the composition and its replacement. Chaos Esports Club signs Team Onyx roster which includes:
- Mason
- A bed
- BuLba
- DuBu
- Demon
With the new line-up, the team will compete at the 2017 Kiev Major, where they place 9th-16th.
After an unsuccessful performance, the team replaces the points: DeMon leaves the roster and Forev takes his place; BuLba changes his role.
In the updated list, Chaos Esports Club ranks second in The International 2017 qualifiers, followed by 9th-12th place in the tournament.
Of course, such a result was unacceptable for last year’s runners-up. Permutations start in the team. Forev and DuBu leave Chaos Esports Club and are replaced by MoonMeander and MSS.
By the end of the year, the team tried to enter all possible championships, but they failed everywhere. In December 2017, Mason announced the disbandment of the lineup.
In 2018, Chaos Esports Club attempted to return to the top with a new roster. It contains:
- Ritsu
- Bryle
- Moon Tamer
- Aui_2000 _
- Stan King
The best result in two months was 7th-8th place in GESG: Indonesia Dota2 Minor.
In April 2018, Chaos Esports Club will disband its Dota 2 roster.
The comeback will take place in January 2019 with a debut in the Chongqing Major. Then the former PaiN starred in the lineup:
- hFn
- w3
- tavo
- Kingrd
- Miserability
At the Chongqing Major, the team finished 9th-12th. The team later placed 7th-8th at ESL One Katowice 2019 and 9th-12th at DreamLeague – Season 11.
In May, the team failed at the MDL Disneyland Paris Major, after which the line-up changed: first w33 left the team, later tavo and Kingrd left the team. Newcomers Gunnar, KheZu and MILAN took the place of the deceased players.
TI 2017 champion Matumbaman joined the team in June
The team managed to reach The International 2019, but at the championship itself, the team took 17th-18th place. line, which was clearly difficult to achieve a successful result.
After TI9, the team waited for the next changes. The cast was completely changed and the new one included: YawaR, Quinn, SabeRLight, MSS, SVG.
With this lineup, they managed to take second place at DOTA Summit 11. Later DM replaced SabeRLight.
In December 2019, the team won qualifiers for DreamLeague – Season 13.
At the tournament itself in January 2020, the team took 13th-16th place, after DM it was replaced by Biver. With a new player, Chaos Esports Club didn’t make it to ESL One Los Angeles 2020.

Dota 2
Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena title from Valve. The successor to the extremely popular Warcraft 3 modification DotA (Defense of the Ancients), Dota 2 was the company’s first strategy game and was released on the download platform Steam on July 9, 2013. The game is a free-to-play title that can be played completely free of charge and is financed through in-game microtransactions, similar to Team Fortress 2.
Dota 2 is – unlike other big MOBA titles like League of Legends – free to play with all heroes. However, game items can be purchased in the Dota 2 store, but all of them have no effect on the gameplay. Only cosmetic items like different skins for the heroes can be purchased. Just like in Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Portal 2, it is possible to create your own content via the Steam Workshop.
